Thanks for that! You have some great books on your shelf. Always nice to meet someone who enjoys du Maurier, Maugham, and Graves.
Hi,Welcome to the Movie Lovers Group. Hope to see you as an active participant in the group; it's always great to hear from new voices. Just FYI, if your interested....last month's group movie was "The Maltese Falcon" and this month's group movie is "Three Times" with a theme of Asian Films. If you've seen any one of them (or both) please feel free to post your comments. We also have a recurring thread "Movies You've Watched During the Month". Please feel to post the movies you've seen on the small and big screen and your ratings.Have a wonderful day. Ann
Oh irony of ironies...i'm cleaning my living room today and found my Tarot Deck...sat fondling it for a while then put it down..the Cards got me through my last Romantic Debacle (being spot on with the Truth there) and i haven't touched them in two years...probably because they were hiding under the chair cushion!...i agree, i think Tarot readings depend on memories..else how to tie the disparities that show up..oh, well. my deck is wrapped in Velvet for a while..to recharge (!)....thanks for your notejudeand i don't think Mrs Peel would let Anything stop her..she had firepower on her side!!
i noticed that you had the handbook for the Aleister Crowley tarot..and i got me thinking..i own the Rider/Waite Tarot...back in the early 70s that is all that was readily available..i bought my deck at a skeevy little shop in Pittsburgh PA..the guy who owned the placed looked like a serial killer (but was probably just a cereal killer, no?)..anyway i love doing readings here, because many people think Tarot=Devil..so i really add the melodrama to otherwise prosaic readings..give the folks a little thrillthank you for reading my ramble..i leave now...****^^^^^******
Dear Miss J,I have referred your card to his Lordship, who has examined your bookshelf approvingly. He respectfully requests that you solemnly swear not to be a dreary Lurker, and wonders what ridiculously British alias you would prefer to be known by at Anglophiles Anonymous? Your svt.,Mrs. DanversManleigh Hall, SX
Hi! I just wanted to stop by and say welcome and thanks for joining the Jane Austen Book Club! Please make yourself at home in group, there are lots of great discussions to jump into or feel free to start a new one if you'd like. Thanks again and see you there! (by the way, if you have any interest in all things "British", come check out the group Across the Pond!) http://www.shelfari.com/groups/18903/aboutAnnie
You know, I just started it and I'm about 35 pages in. So far it has been a nice diversion from the horror, sci-fi, and thrillers that I mostly read. I'll let you know what I think after I read it. So far, so good though. :)
