Well, what'd you think of Charlotte Doyle? I'm on the fence about putting it on my "to read" shelf. I've got Lisa See's Snowflower and the Secret Fan or something but I won't let myself start it 'cuz I have papers to grade and I'll never get anything done if I start it. Went to Joshua Tree on Friday with my Outsiders Club. Oh frabjous day calloo callay I chortled in my joy. Kids loved it. Three of them actually finished a 5.6 and the others managed to at least get on the rock (although they didn't make it to the top). Next time we have to take Anthony and Isaiah to Rattlesnake Canyon. It's such a fun hike. Our API is 549. I despair. I get my mammo results in a few days. Wish me luck as I felt another lump. Efren (my possibly sleep apnea inflicted kid) is OK, thank God. I'm sure you are used to people occasionally passing out on you but I am not so I was pretty freaked. Best of everything to you, D
Just finished I am the Messenger. Strange book. Thought Anthony might like it. Same guy who wrote The Book Thief, which was recommended to me by my nephew. I know Anthony is scheduled to go live with his dad in January. Do you think you might have a day or two during the week to come and speak to the kids? Doesn't have to be soon. In fact, April or May might be better. I hope you are well and restraining yourself from murdering loved ones. ; - )
So is Stieg Larssen or whatever the Dragon Tattoo's author's name is worth it?
You probably never look at your notes, but I just wanted to let you know that I have to give you back The Last Book in the Universe (which I rather liked) and Violent Raines Almost Got Struck by Lightening (which was OK as well). The Last Book in the Universe might be something Anthony would like. Thanks for the loans. P.S. Into the Wild made me exasperated.
What did you think of Into the Wild? Ick. I don't know if I remembered to thank you for a wonderful Thanksgiving or not. We enjoyed ourselves immensely and our stomachs were happy as well. Ciao for now. 615? When do you find the time? I read two pages at night and the book hits me in the face!
When can Roisin and I come for a visit? How is Anthony? What's he reading? Why isn't he on Shelfari? I need help figuring out how to get my kids to read more. Does he have any suggestions? Don't you ever read your comments? You never answered my Cut question. I hate you.
Sharon, What did you think of Cut?
