A unique tale with unusual adventures.

I liked this book. It was well written, fast paced and interesting. Having said that, there were parts that downright disgusted me. I kept wanting to close my eyes when I was reading some parts - very graphic! I also felt I should take a shower when I was done reading the book...

  • Bram Stoker's The Lady of the Shroud
    • Rated 2 stars

Of the Bram Stoker books I have recently read, I liked this the least. It went on way to long and in fact, in the beginning introduction when going on and on about the names and family relations, the author mentions he gets paid a penny per word. So since this was originally written in a magazine as a serial it makes sense as to why it went on and on and on. It was a wonderful story, but tightened up, it would have been a better one, I believe.

  • Within the Fairy Castle: Colleen Moore's Doll House at the Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago
    • Rated 4 stars

I enjoyed this book and the facts shared in it are fascinating. I saw the Dollhouse this summer and my daughter and I loved it. I got the book to learn more about it. The book is well written and informative. I wish more photos of the pieces up close had been provided. Colleen Moore was a fascinating person and I enjoyed learning about her as well.

I enjoyed this tale for the most part. The Jewel of Seven Stars is about Egyptian mysteries. I enjoyed it all up to the end, which I was most dissatisfied with - it just felt chopped off.

Tolstoy knows people! This book is amazing as it follows the lives and changes and thoughts of several very interesting characters. We watch as Levin muddles his way through facts and in the end finds hope. We watch as Anna and Vronsky deal with their love and its affect on others. We see Oblonsky not change very much, but is loved by all...or is he? When you read this book, you come to know these people, and it is not hard to do so because they are you, me, our friends and family. Tolstoy was a master of the human psyche!

I had only read Bram Stoker's Dracula. I have been reading some of his other books via my Kindle. He was an awesome storyteller and if you enjoyed Dracula, or if you enjoye stories of horror or mystery, you will love these!

  • A Tale of Two Cities

What a book! I admit to reading this because of the references to it in Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan. It gives a whole new depth of meaning to that Star Trek movie. What a moving tale!

I actually don't have the audio CD of this book, I read it on my Kindle and I loved it! It is actually a story of a person who just got a Kindle, and I got it right after I got my Kindle. It was the first book I downloaded. Stephen King did a great job!
