I Live in between both which are about 30 - 35 minutes on a good traffic day!

Actually I listen to the book tapes of the lynley series and that makes its more suspenseful. Closer to age 60. I am reading Jill McGown series Lloyd and Judy DCIs. I am also reading Sherlock Holmes by Ted Riccardi waiting to be read are Think of a Number and Scaredy Cat - so I have a lot to cover. I am finding that when I read, i inevitably get sleepy especially at night. Oh I am also ready Anna Travis character by LaPlata, the author of the Prime Suspect television series. Oh yes, I look at the BBC programs also that we get here. I have seen the Luther program - didn't see the final episode, love the Law and Order:UK.

Well its friday, and I am finished for the day and ready to start reading. Have a great weekend!

    Kerstin,

Don't know if you have been following the Elizabeth George Inspector Lynley series, but I have read the last book written and I am not HAPPY where George is taking Lynley romantically at all! He is so laid back - Havers is still Havers - wish she would pretty her up a bit with a makeover and love interest, but I guess she knows where she is going with "her" characters :--)

    Kerstin,

I am in howard county, maryland.

I too prefer to read british mysteries, right now I am reading author Jill McGowan, Peter Robinson, and Peter Lovesay.

I love the Masterpiece mysteries on PBS, but I hated the "new version of sherlock holmes" absolutely hated IT as well as the movie with Jude Law - somethings you just should not mess with!

I like american drama also, but love the british a bit more. I don't know if you have read the J.D. Robb futuristic mysteries with Lt. Eve Dallas - but interesting enough they are very good - know they are not british, but her husband is irish - I listen to the book tapes have never actually read them.

I am kinda particular - I only usually definitely will not read a detective mystery, only prefer the procedural series cause they have forensic, pathologist, and others which makes it more interesting. Many of the independent detective are so out there in the plots and characters it borders on silly silly and I detest silly characters in mysteries. Well gotta go will stay in touch.

Hi, kerstin! I know it's taken me a while to get here, but I'm from the Canada group and just wanted to stop by to welcome you to the group. It's not a terribly active group, but it tends to comes in spurts. There is a Welcome and Introductions thread if you'd like to introduce yourself there. We also have a review thread if you read anything by a Canadian author. Of course, feel free to contribute to the other threads as well! Enjoy! :-)

Hi Kerstin - Welcome to the History Non-Fiction Group. I'm the Admin for the group and am interested in what our members would like to get out of this group. If you haven't already done so, please introduce yourself in our "Welcome and Introduction" thread and tell us what your interests are. The group is now voting for the next quarterly group read (Oct-Dec) so please take a look and vote if you'd like to join in. Voting will close on Monday. Again, glad to have you with us.
