“I've read it I absolutely loved this book- and I wasn't expecting too... I'm 28 (not usually the kind of person who reads teen fiction) and teenage characters have a tendency to annoy me sometimes. I picked it up out of sheer curiosity. I could not put the book down. I'm one of those gals who is a major sucker for chick flicks and a hopeless romantic at heart. So I wasn't disappointed by this book.
I found that I loved the characters. True I wanted to slap Bella a lot and tell her to come back to earth, but you have to remember she's a lovestruck 17 year-old girl... the very nature of what that means should make you realize that yes... she's going to be clingy and devoted and obsessive over Edward. It's not an inaccurate portrayal for a first love at that age. She has her flaws, and her dependency on Edward may seem like one but I found I didn't mind it. There are other aspects to her personality that are quite endearing, like her unavoidable klutziness... (I thought it funny)
Edward... oh Edward where should I begin... He's a dreamy vampire hunk. She is a danger magnet, he's inexplicably drawn to protect her... and at the same time has to resist the incredibly strong urge to drink her blood... which happens to be his favorite kind of crack. But he is FAR from perfect as well- he's pretty sold on the fact that he is going to hell because of what he is, that he has no soul- no redeemable qualities to offer humanity... And most of all that he's no good for Bella (The Lion in Love with the Lamb). Of course, Bella would tell you quite the opposite-
Don't read this book to be enlightened or expect it to be on par with any great literary classic. Read it for pure 100% rainy day enjoyment. Great for hopeless romantics, fans of forbidden love, vampires, and general lovers of paranormal fiction/romance.twice already and I want to read it again! Absolutely love this book!”
