    Also RE: the new picture: Eric pointed out that since the previous picture was a photo of the two of us, the new picture kind of seems less like a homage to "Posession" and the Pre-Raphelites, and more like a metaphorical representation of the two of us... which makes him Merlin, and makes me, well... Morgan le Fay. Hmmm... not quite sure what a literary psychologist would make of that... but hey, we're happy!

    Speaking of"Possession", I'm really looking forward to the release of "The Children's Hour." I finally got my hands on a copy of her short story collection ("Sugar") last month, and that only served to whet my appetite for another full-length novel.

    And speaking of giving you books... I have finished those you so kindly leant me, and have a few surprised for you... all sitting in a box ing my 'out' bin. :-( . I really need to get my act together and **see** you sometime! My schedule will actually be sane-ish at the beginning of November, so perhaps then? I'll have to write you a proper e-mail and see what your crazy schedule is like.

    Yes, I'm sprouting! On occasion. Sometimes the work interferes with the sprouting. So, it would be more accurate to report that I'm sprouting erratically, but enjoying it when I do.

    Story of my life, eh :-)

    Happy Birthday to the young man! Some belated items will be on their way shortly, as well as a decent letter.

    All is well here... the fire was at another building built by my same developer.... I feel terrible for the people there, but I do hope that is a sign that the plague of locusts has finally lost my trail and life is taking a better turn :-)

    Of course... unless we send each other parcels by Pony Express, that does mean we will actually have to get back together for a book swap. Of course, I keep waiting for that mythical time ‘when things settle down.’
