  • Love Is a Battlefield (A Walk in the Park)
    • Rated 5 stars

I loved the themes in this book: forgiveness, trust, and true love. This book really shows that God can take our mistakes and bad choices and turn them into something wonderful. But only if we let Him. If we choose not to forgive and keep that bitterness in our heart, then we are keeping God from using turning it around. I loved Ace and Kristy and all the other characters. I’m really looking forward to the next books in this series.

  • First Impressions (Tombstone Treasures, Book 1)
    • Rated 5 stars

First of all, I want to say that this is definitely for mature teens and up. This is very steamy and not to be read by younger people. But, the message in this book is priceless. First Impressions so completely stresses the importance of handling relationships God’s way that it will make you examine yourself and your walk with the Lord. Michelle is one of those authors that really touches you because she understands the importance of being real. Yes, the book is fiction and fun to read, but it deals with real issues that are usually not addressed in such a straight-forward, understandable way. There are consequences for doing things our way instead of God’s. Not because He gets angry and decides to ruin our life since we didn’t do what He told us to, but because God’s way is best. He created us and He knows how we work. When we follow His guidelines, it keeps us from ruining our own lives. I loved this book and think that Sutton is just getting better and better as a writer. I look forward to seeing the amazing ways that God will continue to use her writing to reach people.

I loved Mac's story. This is a great book and I really felt connected to the characters. I've read all the books in this series and have not been disappointed with any of them. I seriously recommend that you read this entire series if you haven't already.

  • The Seaside Letters

    The Seaside Letters

    by Denise Hunter
    • Rated 5 stars

Seaside Letters is now one of my favorite books by Denise Hunter. Sabrina is a character that I believe all women today can connect with and understand. Tucker is SO full of love and integrity, and is just trying to get Sabrina to open up to him and trust him. Throughout the whole book Denise shows the incredible love that God has for each of us. How He longs for a personal relationship with us, and wants us to trust Him with every fear, insecurity, and hope that we have. I loved this book. I think it is a definite to-read, along with the other books in the “Nantucket Love Story” series. All of these books show the character of our wonderful, loving God. Sabrina and Tucker’s story is sure to be a big success. Make sure you read it!

  • Cowboy Christmas
    • Rated 5 stars

Cowboy Christmas is another great book by Mary Connealy. Her fans are sure to enjoy this laugh-out-loud story that takes place at Christmastime. I loved the theme of being brave, and standing up for your faith. Although, Annette Talbot seemed to get in a lot of trouble trying to do just that. Then the wonderful Elijah Walker would have to come save her. Sigh. I love all of Mary Connealy’s books, and this is no exception. She always has a witty comment or funny turn-of-phrase that will make you laugh. The element of suspense in her books is also fun to read. A definite to-read.

Seth Braxton is a hero that will sacrifice what he wants for what is best for the one he loves. Juleah is a sweet character, but one who will also stand up for what she believes in, and isn’t afraid to speak her mind. I really liked both of these characters. I loved how Rita made all the characters in some way related, and when they first met they had no idea the impact they would have on each other’s life. I love when you meet someone, and then you go on and never realize who they were or the major part they would one day play in your own life. There was one of those characters that I dislike very much. A pompous person who is somewhat in charge, but won’t listen to reason even though they are wrong. But, he was taken care of in the end. I liked how everything turned out (I can’t say what I want to because of spoilers!) and thought that it was well resolved. The epilogue was great too! I love epilogues because they seem to finish off the character’s story line, without having to read the whole rest of their lives.

  • Angel with a Ray Gun

    Angel with a Ray Gun

    by Deborah Kinnard
    • Rated 4 stars

Angel with a Ray Gun is unlike anything I've ever read. Congrats to Kinnard on the original and out-of-the-box plot. Matt is a likeable character with lots of love to offer. A.J. grew up with a hippie mom, and no father, which has caused her to struggle with some areas in life. I really liked reading their story. However, I was ready to shoot some of those church Elders, which is probably unchristian of me, but cannot be helped. I hate characters that go on power-trips, think they know everything, refuse to listen to reason and are in general completely illogical, unreasonable people. Okay, I’m done ranting. The conflict was resolved very nicely though, with the “bad guy” playing a part (though forced) in the fixing of the problem, which I liked. I also thought that A.J.’s real name was absolute genius! I laughed out loud. I really liked the ending too! It was a great way to finish the book.

I really loved the message of this book: trusting God. This is something we all need to work on, and I love the way these authors weaved the storyline and portrayed their characters. Excellent job! The storyline was believable and easy-to-follow, while not being boring in any way. The feelings and dialogue of the characters were also very well done. I loved how they showed that sometimes what we think God wants from us isn’t always what He wants from us. Sometimes we allow our fears or something else to blind us to what God really wants for us. The authors did a very good job of showing this problem and how it can affect us and those around us. Add this to your to-read if you haven’t already!

  • I'm So Sure
    • Rated 5 stars

I’m So Sure is another great laugh-out-loud book by Jenny B. Jones. However, this book is more than just a comedy. It has elements of suspense that really keep the pages turning. I thoroughly enjoyed the plot and the twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat. Bella is getting into more trouble than ever, while coming into her own in the “sleuthing” business. Luke is one of my favorite heroes, even though he is really ornery. The fact that he is totally hot has nothing to do with it. ;) I’m looking forward to the next book in the Charmed Life series, and seeing what new trouble these characters get themselves into.

  • Chasing Charity (Texas Fortunes Trilogy, Book 2)
    • Rated 3 stars

*SPOILERS* Chasing Charity was pretty good. I hated it that Thad had died, though. It was necessary to the story line, but I didn't like that one bit. I liked Charity and Buddy, they were great characters. The theme of forgiveness was well done, and I'm looking forward to reading Emmy's story.
