Asa

I am 33 years old, a CPA and avid runner. My days are busy with work, running, and civic/professional organizations, but I try to read at least 20 minutes each day. Sometimes I read all weekend! I am trying to alternate books for pleasure with books for personal/professional growth.

Love that we have the same likings for books.. so what should I read next? Definitely read Pillars of the Earth. It is long, but you won't be able to put it down! Mark says it's the best book he has ever read.

Dear Amy: What was your time on the marathon? Let me guess: 4:21:15? Close? Marathon running is like writing a novel. it has a beginning, a long middle and, hopefully, a wonderful end. My marathon was published in April. It's called HUNTING THE KING, and it stars a young woman whose pretty athletic herself. Her name is Molly O'Dwyer. Molly was five years old when she witnessed her mother die in a fire. She never knew her father. After her mother’s death, she was raised on the campus of a Jesuit college. Now an archaeologist, she has been recruited to participate on a dig in war torn Iraq. As a scientist she is compelled to discover whatever or whoever is buried under the sands of ancient Babylon. As an observant Catholic, she is scared that whatever she finds will have devastating consequences for her faith. There is a wonderful YouTube book trailer well worth watching if you have the chance. If you do get to see, please let me know what you think. Thanks. Peter

How is the New Earth coming along? Are you enjoying it? I am almost done with his book the Power of Now. It is less spiritual then a New Earth. I have so many new books to read now, I don't know were to start. Guess it's not a bad way to spend the summer.

I am still planning for July 22nd, that Wednesday. Let me know if any thing changes. I am here for my girl. Love!!!!

I don't think you'll like Atonement. The book is about the scruples an author has to face and his responsibility towards the reader of his book. From my shelf and going by the last book you read,I would suggest you "The Romantics" by Pankaj Mishra.
