My husband and I love to travel although we don't get to as much as we'd like due to our jobs. Cruising is our favorite form of travel these days.

I'm glad you are back!
I have an iPad2 which I've uploaded with books but I find I don't read much on the device. For one, it's hard to hold the iPad for long periods of time, unlike pulp books which just seem to be custom made for the human hand. For two, the iPad is a device I worry about droppinig and destroying it. Pulp books can take a licking. My iPad doesn't tuck into my handbag very well, when a paperback is an easy fit. Pulp books are user friendly in bright sunlight, the iPad is impossible to read in sunlight.
Take care,

Hi Susan H,
Was wondering ... how do you read books, pulp or digital, or both?

Hi Susan:
The Q has added a 'return to the top' note at the bottom left of each page.
I guess others had the same complaint you did. I am sorry to hear that the
Gulf oil situation has hit you personally. I hope it improves in the NEAR future.
Hi Susan, how do you like the Q's new set-up? I like everything except the boxes
in which we must type our posts. I think the boxes in the other system were more
user friendly.
I read a couple of Chiaverini books years ago, then picked up this latest one. They probably would be better if read in order, but as they're more like historical fiction than anything else, I was able to read this one and enjoy it as more of a stand-alone.
Started Cutting for Stone last night and am engrossed!
I liked it - I've read the first 3 in the series and have the other 2 on my TBR list. How did you like Silenced by Sirah? I have that one, but haven't read it yet.
I'm reading Jennifer Chiaverini's book, The Lost Quilter, and after that, Cutting for Stone by Abraham Verghese.
Oh my goodness, I am currently reading the exact same book that you are. I am to the part where the ladies are making a trip to the neighbor's home to deliver cookies while the family is away at the funeral.
How about you?
This is my first book by this author, but I like her enough already to go ahead and get another one, maybe I'll try the first one in the series. I ususally don't like to read books out of order.

Hi Susan,
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Hoping for a year with less personal and national
drama. Anticipating a fun year of Shelfari-ing and
QVC-ing!
Hi again, I just remembered that I didn't tell you how to enter tags. When your cursor lands on a book a window pops up. The word tag is included there ~ click on it/type your tag/save. Have a good one!
Hi Susan: Tags are a way to personally organize
your library. Some folks have hundreds of tags.
Personally, I think having hundreds of tags defeats
the purpose of tags. You can click on the tags in the
area below the shelves of your Shelfari friends and
others. I am using tags to highlight about 300 of the
900+ books I have on display.
Enjoy your party prep!
Hi susan, I have added a small number of tags to highlight some of my selections. Have a great day!
Susan, if you get a chance, pop on the Q board to say hello and tell us what you are reading. If not now, definitely after the holidays! I also bake a lot at Christmas and love those sappy Lifetime movies! lainey
Hi Susan! I read that you "lurk" more than post on the Q board (lol)....you should join our "What Are You Reading" thread in the Entertainment section. We are all friendly there....no problems at all. lainey
I don't like Rick myself; as for Bob I can take him or leave him. Lisa, I used to like but now I can't watch her. My favs are Jill and I can't recall her name right now. LOL I'm having senioritis right now. I'll think of it eventually. :-). I miss Dave King.
LOL re a lurker on QVC boards. As long as your not a stalker you're fine. ;-)
Thanks Susan for the invite. It's always nice to meet people from QVC. What is your name on QVC?
Thanks Susan for the info about Diane Mott Davidson's books. Dona
Susan, "friend" of Janice's from QVC. I see that ToastedNuts recommended Diane Mott Davidson's books, I just picked a few up at the book store last week. Looking forward to reading them. Dona AKA SFParrtHd
Hi Susan: If you are interested, Janey, Erin, Sunny, Dona, and Lainey are the other QVC gals in my Friends section.
