Hi Katie! I do agree with Denise in that it's helpful to have gone through experiences where you see the true value of a spiritual journey of some sort. I, personally, adore this book, which completely took me by surprise. I found the author to be incredibly likeable (despite my initial misgivings that it was going to be too self-centered to be entertaining.) If you've ever had aspirations to one day travel and/or be a little more free, it's a beautiful little book written by author through which I, personally, immensely enjoyed living vicariously.

What's your purpose in reading this book? This author takes you on her personal spiritual journey. The best thing to do is pick it up and decide if you're ready for it yourself. The book, I believe, is best experienced when you're able to relate to some of the experiences the author has had.

i personally think you'll only enjoy the book if you think you'll get something out of it. it seems that most people will talk about relating to the story, the author, and her journey. i think it was a very good story, but it sort of took me through a type of spiritual journey.

i kinda liked the book eat, pray, love, the writer was a bit irritating while she was in italy, meaning her mind was noisey but other than that i thought it was a good book.
