Read the review for The Pillars of the Earth
Read the review for Twilight
so did you see the Twilight movie? what did you think?
I knooow right!!??!?!?! and since then I've still been without a computer, my life is in transition at the moment :)
hey! sorry, i've been out of the loop for awhile. I was without internet and a computer for awhile there. but i'm back online now!!! yay!!! my name is Ciara and i'm 25, u?
I definitely don't think it has the appeal of Twilight. The Host is a whole different type of story. It's weird that people compare the two. I've now set aside The Host, in favor of Inkheart, at my daughter's request. Now, I've gotten sucked in. What are you reading now?
I actually haven't finished reading The Host. I've just started it and have been sick for a while, so haven't been reading much. Did you start it yet?
YES.....read ALL the Tolkien you can. It is GOOD for you!! Then read Stephen R. Donaldson's Covenant books!
I've read this great book five times, which must be quite a record. Whilst we're on the subject of books, why not try mine if you like animals and nature, plus a mix of fantasy. It's called 'Daydreams, Moonbeams and Wings Over The Common' which is a true story about myself and a baby magpie. Try it and let me know if you like it.Take care, Vikki (Louisa Middleton-Blake)
If you're into the high/epic fantasy genre, by all means, be sure to check out Lord of the Rings! ;D
Good! I don't know who those 12 were who said no but they are nuts! :) Have you finished it yet?
Ah...It took me about three weeks to read POTE so I am sure it will take just as long for me to read the sequel! I am sure you are done by now so how did you like it?Just as good? Better? I have gotten hooked into reading the Kelley Armstrong Women of the Otherworld series and have just finished the 6th book...
Hey. Yeah, Artemis Fowl's a fun read. It will never be as good as HP, but it's still clever. I think there's only 6 books so far, plus a companion book. I haven't read book 6 yet, though. I've never actually read Roald Dahl, but only watched the movies. Maybe I will some day. Of course HP 7's on my shelf. It should be right next to book 6 somewhere.Anyway, I love Shakespeare. I haven't read everything, of course. I studied Romeo and Juliet for school, so for me, it's a bit overdone. I still love the balcony speech though. My real favourite is The Taming of the Shrew. I guess I'm not into love at first sight, but see it more as something that's learned and grows over time. That's why Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice is my ultimate romance novel.Never heard of Pillars of the Earth. I'll check it out sometime and tell you what I think. Later.
Hey Shakti, I see you like Artemis Fowl too. Happy reading!
Wow POTE sounds great. I'll have to add it to my Amazon Wish List. :)I've not ever been able to get through LOTR. I LOVE the movies though! Tolkien's language is a barrier for me. I get frustrated that he won't just say something, that he dances around what he's saying for like three pages what he could've said in one sentence. I do understand why other people like it though. It's descriptive.I've never seen a cathedral either. Well - not an ancient one like in the story. We have what they call "cathedrals" here, but they're just big churches. I'd love to travel to Europe and see the huge amazing ones they have.
Hi Shakti,No, I haven't read the book that follows POTE yet, taking a break and reading through the Women of the Otherworld series by Kelley Armstrong. I do hope to pick it up once I finish this series after the new year.Have you read the sequel?
Shakti, I noticed you were missing Eclipse from your wish list on your shelf of the Twilight saga. It's the third book.
So tell me about Pillars of Earth. I have no idea what it's about, but have heard it's good.
I cried during HP7 when he was walking in the forest to die and he uses the Ressurection Stone. It was just so brave and sad and cool that all his family and friends were with him. I have been to JKR's site. I used to go there even before I knew about MuggleNet. It's a good site. What's your fave book besides Harry Potter? Mine would have to be the Twilight series.
It was no problem at all.
Hey, you're welcome. I love anything Harry Potter. My island isn't really that 'islandy' though, at least not the kind you see in movies. Alas, no Johnny Depp.
You're welcome. =)
