Klassen isn't an author I know. I went to check it out here and there are quite a few titles. Some seem to be series and others are stand alone? I don't read a lot of Christian fiction as I see this tagged but I do like historicals once in awhile so I may check these out.
I finished I am half-sick of shadows last week and I loved it. As I said, I've listened to every one of the series, this being the 4th. The reader is perfect for Flavia and I highly recommend the series to lots of people. Hope you coworker agrees. :-)
Hi Valerie! I saw the Ladybug Farm series in your shelf and I have to check them out! I am well, enjoying our hot, tropical summer in the north! I failed at the 50 Book Challenge last year so didn't plan to do it this year. I have been reading for enjoyment and beleive it or not I am on 39 books so far! So I guess I will make it afterall. I read 10 books (included in my 39) for our library summer club and still have 2 weeks to go for that! So go figure! I am currently reading "Runnin Wild" abt Clara Bow. My cousin read it last week and loved it. So now I am. Otherwise just some light summer stuff.Next week I will start Fountainhead by Ayn rand. Been wanting to read that for a while.
Have a great summer!
Valerie, Thanks for the recommendation for Wench. I'm listening to it right now! It is quite a story. I didn't think to look at your shelf before writing this - have you read or plan to read The Help? Another wonderful book about the race relations in the South, set in the 60s. A really great audio but good as a print book too.
I am reading "New Tricks" by David Rosenfelt and I love this guy's humor - will have to order some more of his! Might finished it tonight -- I have a stack waiting to go and you no doubt can relate to! I am glad things in life are getting a bit better for you and your family. I really do think of you all. Stay in touch when you can please :-)
Sorry to hear about your mom. My mom just died 7/5 after a 5 month bout w/rare cancer so I know how you feel. Now we have to get my dad settled. He's been staying w/my sister here in MD and is very lonesome w/out my mom. Maybe once he moves back to PA he'll meet new people.
I didn't realize your Mom was gone -- I kinda figured she was since you said that her passing was a matter of time. :-( I did want you do know I was thinking of you. What an unbelievably emotional time. Are you holding up ok? Stay in touch when you can. *hugs* to you
