“YOU MUST READ THIS BOOK. END OF DISCUSSION. Let me start by saying I don't care for horror (read enough Stephen King as a teen to last me a lifetime) and I don't particularly care for fantasy. BUT then comes Joe Hill. OMG, this collection of short stories is SO GOOD, it will leave you wanting for more. What I love the most is that each story (about twenty pages, except for the fifty-plus page novella that closes the collection) reads quickly but totally hooks the reader from the first few atmospheric paragraphs. And each story is vastly different from one another...no two read alike. So if gross-out horror is your thing, there's something here for you. If a touch of the supernatural or paranomal is more your liking, there's something for you, too. In short...STOP WHAT YOU'RE DOING and GO TO THE LIBRARY AND GET THIS BOOK.
(P.S.: My favorite stories are "20th century ghost", "The Widow's Breakfast", and "Voluntary Committal" although I can't say I disliked any of them!)”
