“This is the third book in the Dark Breed series by the writing partners that comprise, Sable Grace. This one picks up with the on going battle between the gods and Cronos. Kyana, Ryker, and all of their friends are trying to find Cronos and the dead he is raising along with trying to get control of their new powers. The final throw down between the two sides is about to begin and there will be terrible losses before it is through.

I really enjoyed this book. I liked seeing Kyana opening up to Ryker in ways that she never has before. I also liked seeing Ryker repair his relationship with his dad. I had a feeling right from the beginning that what Ryker thought he knew about Ares was probably inaccurate. I was also glad to see Haven and Kyana working on re-establishing their friendship. So even though there is a lot of suffering in this book there are clear moments of hope and redemption for each character.

There were a couple of things that kept this book from achieving five stars, in my opinion. I felt like everything was a bit rushed. I'm assuming this must be the last book for this series, just by the way it ended. Some of the events felt like a bit of a stretch for example the Henry story line. I mean, I liked the whole idea of Kyana's sire being able to help her but his existence did not seem like something that should work. In most cases, when things are brought back from the dead they eventually have to go back but apparently the rules are different in this universe and it just didn't set right.

I know that everyone complains about the ending to anything, but the big battle against Cronos, at the end, didn't ring true. Usually in a battle of this nature there are numerous skirmishes and the big bad is not so easily subdued. The deaths during this battle were indeed sad but they didn't break my heart like I thought they would.

Otherwise, I really enjoyed the book. I hope that maybe we will get to see more of these characters in the future. I feel like I was just really getting to know them and now they're gone.”
