“Really great fun to see the Promethean hero F.L. Wright, self-acknowledged genius of the modern home, being domestically dominated by a succession of interesting and enigmatic wives/lovers.
C. Boyle has an interesting narrative stance, using a Japanese acolyte to tell some of the story, and an earlier, Irish-American before him another part.
Yes, it's sort of like reading the National Enquirer, but to put this next to Ayn Rand's Fountainhead, it's totally counter-balancing.
I recommend this to historical fiction and architecture fans. For now, a favorite.”
