I like to read, just don't get a chance that much...maybe a book or two a month. I play guitar badly, so far. Camping, kayaking, and hiking are good times. So are cooking, horseback riding, and being curious. I like bookmarks!

Last night we were invited for dinner to Anita Plous's house and there were 9 around the table. Her good friend Norma Gold is 86, a Latin teacher at Wayne and she still teaches classes, plays tennis, takes drum lessons, is so well read in 50 different areas it is scary,
and all around the table were people of that caliber but younger. The level of conversation was so high it was amazing. One of the women is a professional classical pianist and we all sat around the piano for 30 minutes while she gave a concert. I cannot begin to tell you how much fun I had. Love, D

You're welcome--thanks for replying. It's really nice when people write back on questions. Glad you're enjoying "Team of Rivals."

It's a fantastic book that serves as a bio of Lincoln, Seward, and some others, as well as a history of the Civil War, the Lincoln assasination, and so on. I enjoyed it a lot and have went on to pick up others by Doris Kearns Goodwin.

no problem. i usually don't like to label myself a this or a that kind of reader. makes the whole enterprise rather limiting.

    Hi..
well it's just another great book by gladwell. It does shake up lot of beliefs we have about realtions between great people and great dids and hard work. It's not always that luck favours the brave but sometimes it's lucky ones who go on to become braves...

White Oleander is definitely one of my favorite books I've read! The character just goes through a lot of rough times and its very captivating. I couldn't put it down. You HAVE to move it up in your "to read" pile!
