I joined this site to learn more about what books are good and what people found interesting. I'm thinking of going back to more classic books, but I like a little of everything. So I encourage you all to send recommendations.

I noticed I don't have a specific genre I follow, I just like the books that keep you wanting to read more. ... more »

:) The last 4 are much more adult oriented than the first 3 (with the 3rd being in the middle). Don't let that discourage you however as they pay off is worth it and children's lit can always be enjoyed.

They are the most amazing and inspiring piece of literature the world has seen in the last century. Children have never been inspired to read in this magnitude. In a world filled with technology it is incredible that parents have to take away a book to get them to focus on something else. :)

I am a huge fan. lol

It sure is! It is good to hear from you! Finals are crazy of course. I had to spend 7 hours yesterday compiling papers into a magazine. Whatever gets me a good grade I suppose. How are you?

He has a friend and I became friends with him without him ever telling me that they had a previous relationship. @_@ Whatever though.

Actually, I put down Inkdeath and started Stephen King's Carrie. So far it is decent. The writing style is soooo awkward though. If you don't get on here I will just accept your early birthday wish. :-) Thanks! Have a good weekend!

I just started Inkdeath! I'm sorry! :) I have been going through books pretty quickly recently. I haven't been on a reading kick like this is a long while. I do not like being forced to read though so I feel for you.

My birthday is on the 16th. : ) Nothing major. He just mislead me on something and I was a little disappointed. We are over it though and all is well.

I'm glad that I'm not the only one stressed. Stressful school, man issues, and even my birthday is stressing me out. Hope it gets better though.

In book related news, I'm on my very last Dan Brown book. God, I love him. 100 pages left :-)

No need to be sorry. Eh....it is going a little better. Not too much though and I'm still questioning my ability to pass. But alas....I'm very pleased with the rest of my classes. How have you been?

I would LOVE a library. My biology teacher is a jerk. He gave us a 30 minutes Power Point presentation on himself the first day of class and spent the rest of the time explaining how to e-mail him if we want responses. @_@

I am a little stressed right now. I'm planning my Inauguration trip and it is proving to be more difficult than I had originally thought.

My books collect dust. I just like to support the authors that have "supported" me. :) My first day of classes went well. My biology teacher is a Jerk (with a capital 'J') though. Whatever though. How have you been?

At the beginning of the semester I bought hundreds of dollars worth of books and I am not caught up at all. lol I am slowly diminishing the pile on my dresser. Speaking of school, I have less than a week before school starts back up! Woe is me! :) I'm actually pretty excited. I get to start my French course and my other classes don't seem very bad. Wish me luck.

    Where was The Gargoyle's setting?

The Thirteenth Tale is telling multiple stories at the same time. A young amateur biographer comes across a rare first edition copy of The Thirteenth Tale. It was a misprint as the book only contained 12 stories, and thus was later renamed. The author, Ms. Winters, is notorious for lying about her past. However, she is old and sickly and decides to reveal all to the young girl creating the true thirteenth tale. Quite riveting!

I have nothing against so-called "broken" families. :) I was just illustrating the point.

I just started the Thirteenth Tale. It is really good. The story telling reminds me a bit of Memoirs of a Geisha but not quite as good. Let me know the final verdict on The Gargoyle.

Robin McKinley is an excellent author, and Sunshine is my favorite vampire novel ever. I wish she had made it a series, but no luck. I hope you enjoy it.

If Jacktheartist was talking about Robin McKinley's Sunshine, he's right on the mark... Sunshine is fantastic. If you liked Twilight at all, you should love Sunshine. Its fantastic.

Ooh....I'm looking up the Gargoyle right now. It sounds absolutely fantastic. I love stories like that! Some of my favorite stories are told in the style of a person recalling events. Like Memoirs of a Geisha and the Thirteenth Tale (I'm reading now) and Water for Elephants.

Some families are broken. My family has been shattered into a million pieces. :-) I have step- anything you can imagine. lol So that is where all the children come from. I don't mind though.

I don't believe it will ruin the three novels (especially Angels and Demons since the movie isn't out yet).

Let's see... probably 7-10 children. I like picking people apart as well, but I usually just keep it to myself. I'm not even sure I'd like to know if someone had done the same to me. hahaha
