I love to read, mostly nonfiction, but am trying to expand my horizons, largely due to my monthly book club which reads a variety of genres. I live with my husband and two cats on the Aleutian Island of Unalaska/Dutch Harbor, Alaska, currently famous for its role in the Discovery Channel program "The Deadliest Catch." I am a social worker by training but am currently working for our small local public radio and TV station as development director. I love being involved in our community as well as taking part in social justice work. I have three grown daughters in Texas, all of whom are married to great guys, and they've added to my life's joy by giving me a wonderful grandson who's 6 years old and three precious granddaughters who are almost 3, almost 2, and our newest one who is not quite a month old. « less
