Did you finish the Mortal Instruments series? I really liked it and I've read that there is going to be a 4th book for Simon. I just finished Catching Fire and loved it!!

Thanks for the add... yes you MUST read Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter series (Starts with FANTASY LOVER), as well as J.R. Wards black dagger brotherhood series. Those two anyone can tell you are a "can not put down" type of book. a new author (TO ME) I have recently picked up and really enjoyed was Terry Spear. Terry Spear's Destiny of the wolf, was a very good one. Also try Christine Feehan's Dark Series. those should keep you busy LOL. I just recently been going through the "new" books my library gets each month. It is my way of trying out new authors I haven't heard of. Happy Hunting!!

I'm browsing the top 20 most recently active friends' shelves to see how many books we have in common now.
    Result: 62.

    Hi Beth,
I am finally almost done with Outlander. It has taken me awhile to read because I just haven't had much time to read lately. But I have to tell you that I am LOVING this book! It was a bit slow to start, but since then it has been fantastic. I can't wait to finish and then pick up #2. I am at the point in the book where Claire and Murtagh are leaving to try and rescue Jamie from hanging at the prison. Can't wait to finish! Are the other books as good?

Hey girl! I just finished Darkest Fire and have to say I can't wait for the next in the Underworld series. I think Reyes' story was my favorite. What about you?

Hi Beth, thanks for the Kim Harrison suggestion. I will check her out on my next trip to the library. I am just starting Outlander, so I wil let you know when I finish. I have heard such good things about it that I am looking forward to it and then her other books. Funny what you said about mysteries, I used to love a good mystery but these days I need something light, usually somewhat funny to escape. I have been reading a lot of historical romance lately just because it is easy on the brain, and nothing too horrible happens. I have recently started reading some light paranormal and like that too (again if it is not too voilent or too "out there"). I like vampires and some werewolves and shape shifters (like Sookie Stackhouse or Twilight). Thanks again for the suggestion, it should be right up my alley!

Wow. You are keeping busy. There's a group here for new writers (which obviously you are not) which might be interested in information about your web site. I'm not a writer and have absolutely zero intentions of being one BUT I'm, for one reason or another, in three writer's groups.

It's great to find out you're here too :)

There's another person to steal reading ideas from :D

Yes! Hi! This is so cool! Hah ... there ARE advantages to keeping the same "name" on all the groups (other than not overstraining my brain [g]).Thanks for the (accepted, of course) invitation.

BTW: If you are interested, please also join us in the Shelfari version of BabeCakes. Unlike the Yahoo version, it's not very active but you are allowed to dump practically any type of book on the shelves there. It' supposed to work as an adjunct to the Yahoo group.

There are also a couple of just yacky women's groups that I'm part of that are fun: Women of Lore and The White Elephants. I think the White Elephants is an invite only but I can invite you if you are interested. Also, I have a group called Paranormal Mystery.

Hi Beth, How are you? I do love t read-but haven't taken much time for that this past year. Maybe your contact will spur me to get reading again. I have read a few books in conjunction with my small group studies affiliated with my church. It is a nondenominational Christian church. We meet every other week and do either a Bible study or work thru a book with a study guide. Other than that- the last book I read was East of Eden -my son bought it for me knowing how much I enjoy reading. He is afraid I missed many of the "classics". He was right.
Well, nice to hear from you-great list of books! i do enjoy "romance novels" myself and will check out a few of your suggestions!
    Have a great 2009!

Hi again, Beth. I came back to look at your books list. It seems you read a lot of romance and fantasy. I didn't see any CJ Chery on you list. Have you read any of her books?

    Thanks, Pat
