They are on their way back to you! Well not yet, but I'll try to send them off next week. I was sad. Curran (the "Beast Lord") sounds like a hottie and I'd be interested to see the relationship develop, but it was too gory and she was so kick-ass she was kinda annoying.
Ha! Because of being a book snob, I had to get some real books on first. Smut is coming up soon! I wish we could have different rating systems-- 3 stars for smut is not the same as 3 stars for real books... I must check out some of your stuff
You know, half the time I don't know what your emoticons mean anyway, so I would have just rolled with: [3 I got tired of looking at Frida, and I thought everyone else might be tired of her too.Lurve!
I probably won't read it then. I don't like books with time travel, generally. It even bothers me with Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Too bad, since I totally needed another book to read.
Is Dragonflight the first in the series?
Which book of Jasper Fford's (sp?) do you think I should read first?
Only 4 stars for Graceling? What does it take to get a 5?
London Book Fair--April 19th through the 21st...Don't you just wish?!
Oops, gotta take back what I said about "pretty illustrations" in the Alpha & Omega book. They're sort of cheesy, and only in black & white. One had looked good, then I went through the whole thing, and there are only about four illustrations. However, it's signed, hardbound, and not next to a short story about you-know-what (boo to Sunny in "On the Prowl").
It's funny. I especially like the double entendres with "balls," Darcy saying to Miss Bingley, "Well, you'd like balls if you knew the first thing about them" (paraphrase). Hilarious! But I'm not really compelled to keep reading, for some reason. I put it down in favor of another book, then haven't picked it up again. My friend Neda told me that they're making a movie of it, with Natalie Portman as Elizabeth. Did you hear that?
Heard much about de Lint's latest, "Muse and Reverie"? I only found out it existed a few minutes ago when I got Barnes and Nobles weekly e-mail that started off with this new release since I'd purchased a number of his books before. Looks like another short story collection and it's part of the Newford series, which I find particularly appealing since I prefer these to his others.
Enjoying it so far, only about 100 pages to go and I'll be through it and have my comments on my blog. It's been a great read so far, and there's been only one short story in the book that I didn't care for.
ANN's forums tend to do that... don't they? I asked Keonyn the same question about joining groups and the response I got was "but it's tough to find good active groups that aren't overrun with kids speaking text speak about which character they'd date." That gave me a good chuckle! I guess that's something we'll need to look out for! lol
Hi there! I was wondering if you are participating in the groups you have joined... are they pretty decent? I haven't joined any yet, but thought about it.
I wish I could read when I drive to and from work... but I think others wouldn't appreciate it!
So little time.... so many books! You keep adding more and more books.... you're a maniac! You definitely shame me.
Do you have any idea how long it will take for me to make my shelf actually 100% representative of all I have read and/or own? o_O
Hi Kyokun... I forgot to mention that the second book of the Bartimaeus series is pretty good. If you enjoyed the first, I believe you will like the second.
