I remember seeing my mom reading a book one time when I was little and asked her, "How can you read a book with no pictures in it?". She said, "Honey, you make up your own pictures in your mind." And so I tried it and that's where it all began for me....

sorry I didn't answer to this post in a year, I've been very bisy taking an A.P. History class at my school and haven't had much time to get on here, I liked the twilight series, but I don't feel that they were as good as eveyone made them out to be. Not saying that they aren't good books though. And I personally feel that the books are MUCH better than the movies, although I haven't seen Eclipse yet

You're doing so well in school. Then again, we'd not expected anything different from you. :)

Psychology sounds exciting and interesting. I think the last I heard from was that you were trying to decide which classes to take and I'd been meaning to ask you what you'd decided on and just never did. Do you know what you're going to do once you're done or is that still up in the air?

Well, make sure that foot heals properly. You can always walk or run another time.

Aww, the poor puppy. It's so sad when they get old and have to be put down. I know it was a tough decision when Jake had gotten so bad but it needed to be done. I'm sure the last pup is getting lots of attention though.

Have a great weekend and enjoy your leisure time.

    Love,
    Sabine

You better believe that I've missed you. I've been thinking about you figuring you were pretty busy with work and school but you've been busier than I'd thought. Wow, a half-marathon. I had no idea you had such aspirations. I'm sorry to hear about your foot and that you won't be able to participate in the race. I do wish you a speedy recovery. I'm sure you're glad you have some time to come up for air and relax a bit. So, how did the semester go? Peachy, I bet. I'm sure you did well.

Well, I've not been doing so much reading the last couple of months. I've been doing a bit of knitting (including a pair of socks for your dad) and watching some German shows I've had recorded for some time. Some of them were 3 years old or so. About a month ago I got sick and ended up in bed for a few days. Unfortunately that was right before tax time and so I had to drag my poor carcass out of bed and hurry to get the taxes done in time. That was NOT the way I'd had it planned but you know how that goes. All is good now, though, and things are back to normal or what we like to call normal around here.

Your dad's been busy working in the yard and fixing and finishing the shed he built some years ago and now he's diving back into the real estate business with full force.

I'm still reading my cozy mysteries and some thrillers and in addition I've read some dog-related books including one of Cesar Milan's books. I have another dog book here waiting to be read that I picked up just the other day.

Well, that's about all I can think of for now. Say hi to Josh and scratch the kitties for me. Georgie and the girls send slobbery kisses your way.

    Love,

Hello, Jennifer. I’m the author of The Sandal Maker, a new novel about the public ministry of Jesus from a unique point of view, a little controversial at times, but you will see him as never before. It’s a story that will take you on a fascinating journey in first century Galilee. Have you ever wondered what is was like to live in those times? What part did women play in his ministry? Was he the first feminist? Were the miracles real? Why did Judas betray the Master? How does the gospel of Jesus compare to the gospel according to Peter and Paul? This is a “must read” for those on a true spiritual quest. You can read reviews at Amazon.com. I’m including a link to copy and paste. Let me know what you think.

I have changed the name of our group from Theology Forum to Walking With Jesus. I wanted a more loving , caring and sharing group. I would like for us to talk about Christian books that have helped us through good times and bad. I hope you will come visit. You are already a member. The avatar is a log cabin with snow listed with your other groups. Merry Christmas, Doylene

I loved The Help. I actually listened to the audio of it and it was very moving to hear the voices of the different characters tell their own stories. Hope you enjoy it.

Hi, Jenn. Nice to hear from you again. I've been reading the same kind of thing, some suspense novels and some cozies in between. I haven't had as much time to read as I did some months ago so I have slowed down as well. And with the holidays coming up it'll get busy for me with baking and so on.

I've ordered Twilight from Netflix and am looking forward to that. I still need to read the other books in the series, just hadn't gotten around to that yet.

The pups are great, the new one too. He's found his niche here and seems quite comfy. He does have some ear issues so we'll be taking him to the vet ASAP but I'm sure he'll be fine. He's filled in quite nicely and looks very handsome now, not like some emaciated mongrel. LOL I need to take more pics and then I'll send you some.

Not much going on here. Your dad's been busy with work and I've been doing my 'thang' around the house and that's about it.

So, what ya thinking about going back to college for? And will you be baking for the holidays?

Hope to hear from you soon.

    Love,
    me

No plans for us, really. Your dad will be pretty busy with work for quite a while so we won't be able to do much of anything. And I suppose I might as well start thinking about the holidays, they'll be here before I'll know it. It happens that way every year. We ARE planning on going to Midland again for Thanksgiving to see your grandma. This time we'll be taking 3 dogs. i wonder how that will work out. George is a good boy, though, so it should go pretty well.

The sun's finally back and it seems the rains have stopped for now. It's good to have some dry weather again.

Wine tasting sounds like fun. I went once but it's been a long, long time. We're having the Octoberfests around here but I'm not sure I'll get to go and am not even sure if I really want to go. I'll have to look around and see if there's anything interesting in Plano or McKinney. I don't think Allen has anything going on that's worth going to.

I like going to the old parts of towns, they're always interesting. McKinney has a nice area with little shops and so on. It's especially nice during holiday season. That is one of the things I miss about Germany.

What do you do with your kitties when you're dog sitting? Do you take them with you?

Well, I'm off to do my stuff. Have fun and take care.

Hehe, those balls are a lot of fun. We haven't had much time to play with it but I'm sure it won't be forgotten. Your dad even got an extra one to put in his truck so he can keep clients' kids busy if need be.

It's been quiet here, not much going on, which is a good thing. It seems that the rain's finally stopped. I was starting to wonder if we'd need to get the boat ready. We still have some chance of rain but nothing like we'd been getting. I'm ready for it to dry up a bit so the dogs can play in the yard again. George is getting a bit bored and needs his exercise.

What's going on with you? Anything exciting planned?

    Take care

Hey yourself. :) Your dad's been telling me about the trip. Sounded like a lot of fun to me. BTW, we are now the proud owners of a 20 questions ball ourselves. Had to have one. LOL

I'm glad y'all got to go sailing. At one point it looked like that was going to be unlikely.

It's been pretty wet here. It started raining last Thursday evening and has barely stopped since. We're not flooded here in Allen but some other areas close by aren't as lucky. It still rained this morning but I think it's just about over now.

    So, where's that picture? LOL

    Take care

I saw that in your updates. The movie's just coming out, isn't it? We still don't have our TV back so I don't catch much of what's going on. I'll have to put it on my list then.

I'm reading a Victorian mystery right now which is pretty neat because of the historical background. That's new territory for me. I have a Scottoline and a Coben left to read and then I'm not sure what I'll be getting next.

How are things? Everything's good here. George has adjusted beautifully. he got up on the bed for the first time this morning to get some loving. He was ALL snuggled in, too. :) He's just such a big sweetheart and a good dog. I'm glad we have him.

I'm glad you like the HP so far. I don't usually read fantasy either and this is probably the only one that appeals to me. I don't think I'll attempt any of the other popular ones. HP also has very well developed characters which is another thing that makes it a good read. There is no romance but I've always wondered if there might be in the future. Who knows?

I really like Twilight so far. I'm about 80 pages into it so far but your dad's home now and the puppies are awake so I'll probably not get to read much for the rest of the day.

A colleague of your dad is trying to talk us into taking one of his dogs. Not sure yet how that will turn out but if we end up with another dog I may not get to do a whole lot of reading in the next few weeks. LOL

Have you started the HP yet?

I hope you do like it. If nothing else, you might appreciate her writing. Let me know what you think.

My library called yesterday to let me know that Twilight is ready for me to pick it up. I'm all excited now. I'll have to get it tomorrow, no time today, but then it'll be at least a few days before I'll get to it. i picked up too many books again last time I went to the library.

    Happy reading. :)

Well, I just put in a request for 'Twilight' at my library. That book has a lot of holds on it so I don't know when I'll get it. Time will tell.

I added 'The 13th Tale' to my TBR list. Noticed it on your list and thought it looked good. Let me know what you think when you've read it.

Yes, finally got to that. Yup, it's a Smart. This was taken in Germany at the Mercedes dealer when I was there in '05. I thought it was kinda cool. At the very least it's different.
