I'm Katie :-) I'm 30, and the mama of Olivia (8), and Genevieve (5), and the wife of Shawn! My idea of a great book is not only a book that I love at the moment, but a book that really sticks with me and pops into my head for years down the road. Hello Lovey!!! I can't access facebook :( Hopefully that will change when I get to Germany. I leave on Friday at 6:30pm. I'm excited AND nervous. Michael sent photos of the new apt. It's lovely! Have you been bombarded by postcards from the south? I'm sorry. LOL. Oh..if you so happen to have any postcardies or such to mail...I will forward all the mail to Germany from Ft. Meade. I have our APO address...I just don't have it memorized yet. I willl email it your way...

I describe The Innocent Man as the most terrifying book I have ever read.

    Hi Katie,
Is this site like Facebook where everyone who is in your certain "club" can read it, or when I type you a note can just you see it? I will have to have you help me with this when you come down, because I can't even find where to do my profile or anything.

That is hilarious. That book is a tear jerker. I was happy that Adam was asleep when I finished it as well.

I was pleasantly surprised that you had read Pedagogy of the Oppressed. I was not pleased that you gave five stars to Be Intolerant.

I'm surprised at some of the books you liked and read. (sometimes pleasantly surprised, sometimes disappointingly surprised) It's amazing what you can learn about a person from their reading habits.

They're quite spendy--$359 for the current version, but a new version (the DX with a larger screen) is a $489 and has just been released. I ordered the current version, so I will have to tell you how I like it. I think that in the long run (if I stay away from Barnes and Noble) it will probably cost me less than the books I tend to buy.

I think the reason I didn't like it was because it was so different than most of his other books. It was much more (how do I explain...?) FICTION than his no-nonsense legal dramas.

Yeah, it was. My mom gave it to me when we were visiting over Thanksgiving. She has a TON of books and is always reading new stuff...guess that's where I get it! Are you bored now that school is out? I'm getting there... :-/
