Noel, I've joined the site. It looks rather complicated! But I'll see if I can get get through the "bureaucracy". :p Thanks again.
Noel, I'm atempirialist@yahoo.comArigato in advance! Have you also watched 'The Mistress'? It's based on Mori Ogai's 'The Wild Geese'.
hey there :D If you're interested to purchase great titles at cheaper prices, visit my site http://spellnice.multiply.com/photos/album/31 and contact me, okay? Thank you very much . :)
hi noel, sorry haven't been in touch for a while. been busy, projects, holidays and all. hope all's well.
hi, noel. i have received the books. excellently wrapped; i almost did not want to get them out of the glad wrap. thanks!
sorry, no. where does it go, i've searched all over. i'm new to shelfari is maybe why, but it shouldn't be this difficult to find, no?
yes, i see my name on your list, and as ours is wee circle, i know everyone else on there. some more than others (code for having gotten drunk with them): i gave the toast at one's wedding, i'm related to another two, and one i see often enough and is an occasional houseguest.my friend, we are all poet manques. seamus heaney, nobel and all, couldn't even make a go of it as a full-time poet, he'd have to perform tweeded-up at harvard etc. for spoiled legacy kids, and having seen him drink industrial grade vodka from a recycled mayo jar, i had no doubt which activity he would prefer. poets are born, and have the rest of their lives to try and get rid of that burden. there is a line in a david mitchell novel that goes: "our souls eat poetry, but one has seven deadly sins to feed," in the context of how poetry offers meager providence and that "successful poet" is an oxymoron.i am in awe of your culturati credentials! i've seen a number of the films you mentioned by other than assayas or ozon (beau travail, rosetta, cache), but nowhere near your tally. i've watched a few late rohmers (sniff, sniff) and looking forward to the last chabrol (ditto sniff, sniff). we live in the metro nyc area and bellamy opened in the city just 2 weeks ago. i'm very interested in the bittorrent resource, and i think i have enough bandwidth for it. i must confess my only previous acquaintance with bittorrent is through those torrents files of just-played matches posted by footie enthusiasts in their blogs.let me suggest a trade: if you hook me up with bittorrent, i'd happily send you copies of books you want or books not on your shelf which i think you might like. i recently experimented snailmailing a book through us post and phil post, and am waiting to hear if it got there. but we are also there typically once a year (we were last there for a month this may), and it's a simple thing to just bring the books with us. my favorite bookstore in the city is the strand; all the books they sell are discounted, but the best are used books. books are meant to be passed to another, and a used bookstore is a terrific middleman.oops, i've set the rest of the day aside for football. champions league match in an hour, ac milan at real madrid, 16 european cups between them, woohoo! i'm not surprised you know my handle, you're a kindred spirit after all, and yes, my hat trick against south korea was a beaut!
i'm very much out of touch with french cinema, save for maybe olivier assayas, francois uzon and those dudes who did the parkour flix haha. and no cinema books at all! everything i know about cinema i learned from netflix, and the depth to which my world-weariness has fallen can be fathomed through my netflix queue, which is stuck on tati/hulot films. but i hope you wouldn't mind if i gave your shelf a raid and checked out your film books.
hmm, i know li-young lee (we read together in singapore, though i last saw him in berkeley in the late 90s) and was a student of gerry stern's in iowa. the poetry circle in manila is shockingly tiny, and the pinoy poetry confraternity and prosorority in the states are not much bigger. wherever you are, i suspect i know you, if not in person then by name or reputation. i'd gladly give you a whisper about my true identity, but hereabouts, i like going by my public persona of starting center forward for real madrid. (i scored a brace against malaga this weekend.)
you deduced correctly, my friend. may i deduce back that you're one heck of a cineaste, as godard's star seems to have sadly faded from the celluloid firmament, which apparently has no room for marxist filmmakers not named michael moore, who in america passes for marxist the same way obama passes for socialist. sigh.(please disregard this rant as i just realized there is no more celluloid firmament; it's all digital now, but your deduction remains spot-on.)

I think Dr. Hidalgo and Dr. Garcia are still teaching, I haven't had the pleasure of studying under them yet. I am not sure about Ma'am Llanot, however.
the philippines has a lot to offer.......not only beaches but mountains, rice terraces, the people, their smiles inspite of the hardship they have to face everyday...France is rich ( Guadeloupe is part of France, it's one of their regions or depatments, as they call it) but people are complaining all the time and they hardly smile anymore.......! We have rich culture and the positive side of colonialisation enriched this rich culture further.......also people travel to discover places.....why would I come here? Definitely not for their beaches either!
Hello! What degree did you pursue at Peyups, if I may ask? P.S. Impressive bookshelf.
