My name is Krista and I am 17 years old. I have been reading since I was really young, and I've always enjoyed it. I have an addiction to buying books. Whenever I have money I go to the bookstore and buy a book. I have a huge book collection at home and it's still growing. The main reason I'm using Shelfari is to keep track of the books I own. I... more »

Hello! You happen to be a member of the group "My Alternative" and I'm an admin. So, to get the group up and running again, I'd like to ask you to come join our discussion! Lately we've been playing a game that we like to call "Pick-A-Band", voting for new group avatars every two weeks, chattin' about our favorite music videos, adding songs to our group playlist on Playlist.com, and speaking of the latest album releases. Come join our fabulous discussions! Hope you like music!

    Much thanks,

    Hello,

I see you're a fan of Stephen King. I see that you recommended to someone to read " Salem's Lot". I've never read that book, but I really liked the movie that was done about it.

Hey Krista, Sorry I have been gone for a while. A family emergency turned up here but I'm home now. Thanks for posting at my page and staying in touch by the way. I appreciated it.
So how are you doing? What are you reading? I know I recommended Anthony Piers last time. He does fantasy work. I'd say he writes like a less serious, humorous, non-dark Lord of the Rings type style. And the commenter below me, spoke about Koontz who is another favorite of mine. Love his work. If you havent read his stuff, you should. His Odd Thomas series is a favorite of mine.
Also, I wanted to invite you to my Halloween blog contest going on now. Starts today and lasts until October 11th. My blog os over at http://ladyvampire2u.blogspot.com/ and I hope I'll see you there. Take care and I hope to hear from you soon... ~LV~

hey, i accepted your friend request. We have a lot in common, i too have a growing book collection and buy one everytime i see one. I noticed you have read numerous Stephen King novels, and my suggestion to you is that if you like him, you would also like Dean Koontz. They are very similar although Dean Koontz is my favorite, and in my opinion a better writer. If you are to read a Koontz novel, whenever that may be, my suggestion(seeing that you love animals) is Watchers. It is probably his best book, and is centered around a genetically altered genius dog named Einstein. You will enjoy it trust me....

Thanks for posting back. I didn't know that the Golden Compass was a trilogy but I guess you learn something new everyday. So have you read all three books or only the first one? Me, I do read fantasy/sci-fi sometimes. I suppose it all depends on what mood I'm in. Ever read Piers Anthony's books? I have almost all of his books and have read about half of them. ~LV~

    Hi Krista,
Welcome to Play Book Tag (pbt) group. We love to hear from our new members so please chime in on discussions. We have a faq's thread that explains a lot of our most common asked questions, but please feel free to ask either myself or any of the other veteran members of the group. Everyone is really friendly and helpful.
The basics. Every month we pick a tag to read from, then share our reviews with each other. We are winding down August's tag Inspirational, right now and gearing up for September's pick Dragons. Should be fun. Well Happy Reading!!

Hello fellow PBSwapper! How cool that you joined up after seeing it on my profile! Also, here's a heads up, check out the forums and look at the Book Bazaar forum. They are always doing deals there so you can maybe get 3 books for one credit or some such deal if a member has a lot of the books you like on his or her shelf.
I've never read the Golden Compass myself. How is the book? And is it very different from the movie? If so I might have to read it. Right now I'm reading "The Accidental Demon Slayer" by Angie Fox. I just started the book but it's really good so far.
I hope your having a fab day there when you read this. Take care and I hope you'll message again soon. ~LV~

We have a lot in common then, don't we? I really like it when people tell me why they want to be my friend when they send a request. I hate it when people just request me and don't even tell me why. Thanks for that =)
