Grapes

Hi Shelfari community,

This is the place for me. Ever since I was a little girl I have enjoyed reading. With fond memories I remember my first library card, visits to the local library, the bookmobile and church rummage sales with books on sale.

    Yeah, "the Last Unicorn" was a good book to read and you'll feel even worse for them when you read it.

    I honestly didn't much care for Edgar Sawtwlle, though I cannot say you shouldn't read it. It was just too tragic for me.

    I really enjoyed it too. I love learning about different cultures, and I knew next to nothing about ancient China. Wow... I'm certainly glad I wasn't a woman in those days!

    Number the Stars is the only book of hers I've read. I thought it was very good, so I will be reading more. If you haven't read this one, it's about a Danish family and how they save their Jewish neighbors from being captured by Nazi soldiers. In her afterward, she explains the true events and people that were behind fictional events and characters in the book, and that was very interesting.

    Gossamer sounds good too.

    Hi Grapes. We haven't "talked" for a while, so I just stopped by to see how you are. I'm doing a lot of reading for a game in Play Book Tag, so much that I've barely taken time to write reviews.

    Happy reading to you!

    Hi Grapes;
    Yes, I used to read every new Danielle Steel book that came out. It has been a few years now since I've read one but I should go back to them as I'm sure they are listed as "chick-lit" and they would fit perfectly with our PBT February tag. I hope all is well with you. Nice to hear from you!

    We do seem to like the same books, don't we? I haven't read anything by Neil Gaiman, but he sure gets good reviews.
