We have 14 hours to go! I'm looking forward to seeing what book bargains I can get in the new year sales, as well as some clothes hopefully.

Oh, you changed your Shelfari name, too! No need to do that, you know - feel free to change it back, although some of us have gone the "whole hog."

Delighted. Please let me know what suitably silly British name you'd like to go by, and I'll send you an invite. If you're stumped, one of our members created this little gadget: A Silly British Name Generator. Just play around with it until you find something you like...http://namegen.synthasite.com/

    Yrs sincerely,

Anglophiles Anonymous is the most fabulous thing I know of on Shelfari, if it helps.

    Dear Kate:

I have followed your career with considerable interest. I wonder if my little group Anglophiles Anonymous might provide you with a home away from home as it has so a select group of other lovers of English literature. The only requirements are that one does not Lurk, and that one is in possession of a ridiculously British alias. We do have a good deal of fun, and we also read and discuss a great deal together. If you would like to join, please let me know. I would be happy to invite you into the group.

    Yours faithfully,

    M.

publishamerica.com is okay but you have to do all your marketing yourself. it's free to publish with them and you get some good discounts but you have to be extremely aggressive in marketing and PR in order to get your material out there. for a new author trying to break into publishing it's a good way to go so that you can say you are a published author and maybe find an agent. i think once you're established it's better to try to find a more reputable publisher.
