Ummm, Shelfari appears to be interfering with my reading time . . . when I can tear myself away I like to read, watch movies, cook, play with computers and listen to and sometimes play music. I am in The Land of Enchantment. (No seriously, it's our state nickname in NM, USA.) I live in the high desert country with 2 guard dogs (although the... more »

Boy, it's been a long time. Just helping my son write an essay on "Columbus was a jerk," saw you had left a note! I look forward to reentering life here in a few weeks. Planning a major change, don't know what will happen. Possibly return to night shift, anyway.

I have continued to read, though. Glad to see this note. thanks, ray

Thanks for the review of The Wasp Factory. I cannot tell you how many times I picked it up, gleaned there may be some gruesome animal treatment and put it back on the pile for a later date. Your review has helped me decide what to do with the book. I suspected I'd not care for it and now I won't waste my time.

I was using various PDAs up until last year when I discovered Audible. Today I occasionally read on my netbook while I wait for the ebook readers to come down in price.

Welcome to 1001 books. You can keep track of the books you have read from the book, 1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die, join in the discussions on the books we are reading for the month (BOTM) or you can debate the merits of the list as some enjoy doing. Hi, and welcome to the Chiller group! Just wanted to let you know about a few things we have going on in the group. First, I wanted to let you know that our our November author is another Chiller member, Donald Michael Platt.

The group's been around for a while so there are a ton of threads. Hop on over to our introduction post and tell the group hi and talk about your favorite horror authors. Feel free to start your own discussion posts and browse our growing group shelf.

Any questions at all just ask, same for suggestions or ideas. If you would like to be added to the list of people that receives group update notes, please add Diamondgirl as a friend and leave her a note letting her know that you want Chiller updates.

Dear Crazyjany: I notice the husband comes after the cats, dogs and kittens. But books come first. I am an author from Massachusetts. My debut novel HUNTING THE KING was published in April.

HUNTING is a fast-paced page-turner that follows archaeologist Molly O'Dwyer into war torn Iraq in search of the remains of Jesus. Molly was five years old when she witnessed her mother die in a fire. She never knew her father, and after her mother’s death was raised on the campus of a Jesuit university. ForeWord Magazine says: "Fans of intellectual thrillers and historical fiction will find a worthy new voice in Clenott. His best invention may be Molly O’Dwyer, a genuinely likable heroine who more than holds her own in a man’s world. An ambitious scientist, she is also an observant Catholic whose heart and mind don’t always agree. Given such an auspicious start, the sequel can't come too soon." Booklist compares HUNTING favorably to DA VINCI CODE.

To get a good sense of how exciting the novel is check out the heart-pounding trailer for the book on YouTube.

    Thanks.

Hey Crazy - I'm kinda embarrassed by my pitiful little shelf with less than a hundred books. (*sigh*) Hopefully in the next few days (or knowing me, next few weeks) I'll have time to load some more in. Don't think I'll make it to 93,000, though. ;-)
