    Hello,

Summer goes by so fast but winter seems to last forever. If only we could control the weather.

    Dracula: Hearts of Stone

Dracula is a good guy in this adventure of romance, wizards and fangs; lots of interesting characters and humor, including the author Piers Anthony. A 12-year-old wizard named Jenny that’s trying hard to figure it all out. A very special Siamese cat named Moon Diamond and his friend Zacharia. An extraordinary female sheriff that’s being pursued by a shy vampire, but she does find him interesting. I find that a book is always better when the work is interspersed with humor.

Hi Donna, I just read Bridges of Madison County and agreed with your recommendation - it was great to read a sappy love story after a long long time. :)

I read about half of Rev. Road, but got frustrated, flipped to the end, saw what happened and quit. Took it to Half Price books, I think.

Ms Pauley, you must read Revolutionary Road by Richard Yates. It's the finest novel I've read in a while.

Thanks for the recommendation. I've been curious about this book because I've heard some very mixed reviews. Several people over at Play Book Tag hated it, but their descriptions made me want to read it. I'll definitely get to it. Thanks.

Sounds like you ladies had a whole lot of fun last night ;-) I hope you dad is better soon. Sorry you had to miss out on the weekend of editing relaxing. Can't wait to read the final product.

I think Inkheart would be a great book! I does have one or two curse words.. but other than that it is great. There would be LOTS to discuss during class. And there is a big enough difference between the book and the movie that you would know whether or not the students actually read it! This was a wonderful book!

I mailed out your letter today (finally). If you happen to have an excess of friends who want to participate (unlikely), let me know because as of right now, I'm still looking for a sixth.

Hi there! I am so jealous of your trip to Austin. That book festival sounds like tons of fun! I was wondering if you had any suggestions for poetry. I need a book of poetry for a game I'm playing. While I enjoy poetry, I don't usually pick it up for a weekend read, so I'm at a loss.

Hey. How is the clean up going? Has work started on the house yet? I guess I could just give you a call and find out, but I'm not a bit talk-on-the-phone kinda person. Did you like Gargoyle? Several people in my groups have been raving about it. The story definitely sounds intersting. What did you think?

Hope everything is going well. When will the house be finished?

Yay!! Looks like you're back up and running. How is life with airconditioning? Bet you never knew how much you would miss it. How are things in H town? Are you back in school? I'm so sorry you guys had to sit through all of that. Is the damage to the house bad? It kinda sounded that way. Anyway, I'm glad you've got electricity back. I hope the clean up goes well.

I remember you telling me about the Socratic Seminar. I also remember feeling very jealous. I'm sure that was a great discussion. What a fantastic book. We have a number of books in common, and I often check your shelf to see what's new and what looks interesting. You have such a collection!

Hi there! I'm not sure if you would be interested, but you might enjoy the group Play Book Tag. You can find it on my groups page. It's a lot of fun, and you can participate as much or as little as you want. We will be starting a new "challenge" in October that will be really easy because it won't completely dictate what you read.

I've found the monthly tags to be fun, and they have expanded my horizons as far as the types of books that I read. Check it out if you're interested.
