Amit, I couldn't agree more with you, especially about the dumb politicians part. I'm hoping this presdential election will be a stepping stone in the correct direction for change. We are a very selfish as Americans. I didn't grow up in this country, and arrived back in America in middle school. What a culture shock. Everyone is so brash. But I still love this country and have hope that things will get better. And Oh what a domino effect we have set off in other countries these last two weeks. Very scary! What company do you work for? I apoligize for not writing sooner, I was swamped with college studies.

Hi Amit, sorry it's taken me so long to reply - haven't been on here for ages. You could try The Google Story by David A. Vise and Amazon.com: Get Big Fast by Robert Spector. The Google one I've partly read and it was very good (just got a bit distracted so never finished it). The Amazon one I haven't read yet but have heard that it's supposed to be a good one. Hope that helps.

    Hi Amit
I am zero in finance,( to the great distress of my better half), business and all the stuff that makes the world go round. My interests are serious fiction. Like to read non fiction only rarely, one such being William Dalrymple's The Last Mughal.Have read some Philosophy but do not read the new self help books.I find enough food for thought in reading writers like Garcia Marquez, Orhan Pamuk, Toni MOrrison and old favs like Maugham, Green Steinbeck, Hemingway etc. etc.Yes, we might give it a try.Unlike you i read one book at a time.Welcome aboard.

Yes, i was in Rishikesh. Am going to Jaipur, Ajmer , Pushkar Thursday thru Sunday. Long Weekend..
    What are your plans

It is indeed sad & depressing. Lets pray for the victims and the people who caused it bcoz they
are angry people. Love is the only medicine. Dont be depressed my dear friend. Use this energy
constructively. Hope all is well with family & friends.

Of course this being it pertains to your career. What do you think of the US economy? Do you think we can possibly recover?

hi amit .....sorry for replying so late
it is difficult for me to rate this book .....i think being indians we are far too familiar with moral conflicts, struggle of adapting in new environments
so it does not seams extaordinary book to me....but the emotions with which book is written are real ....they deffinatly touch ur heart
    i give 3 stars....worth a read

I'm sorry, it was a joke. You said too much 'sugar candy' makes you feel diabetic so I said, take it with a 'pinch of salt' i.e to take away the sweetness.

It actually means that if Jack Canfield's philosophy is too much to take, just take what benefits you and leave the rest. I know other people who think he can be a bit 'over the top', personally, I don't.

I'm sorry if I've confused you.

    Take care, Nazya

I purchased the book and posted it on my "I Plan to Read" section so am unable to review it for you. I have a growinbg fascination with learning and look foprward to reading this book. Dryden has a new book out titles "The New Learning Revolution" but I don't what it adds to this work. One of my favorites is a book by Dr. Frank Smith titles "The Book of Learning and Forgetting." Another that I really appreciated is "Primal Leadership" by Goleman and Boyatzis which deals with leadership and the application of the principles of emotional intelligence. He supports his concepts in this book on the basis of how we learn in terms of the process of internalizing knowledge so that it has a transformational effect on the learner. Hope this helps.
