Hi Bill, I'm in a reading slump right now. I want something riveting but every book I've picked up is anything but that. I think I'll go to the library and check out that Richard Powers book you recommended some time back, it might do the trick I hope....:)
Wow the book Quiet is amazing and dare I say life affirming for me. I don't consider myself an introverted person but I have alot of the traits and often felt like what the heck is wrong with me but at the same time feel comfortable socializing, but find I need a lot of down time. I borrowed this from the library and I'm almost finished reading it but will have to remove all the post it notes first!!
I certainly will borrow the book next time I'm at the library. I'm in the middle of 3 books right now, have been reading alot of short stories. I sometimes read self help books, not sure how much they actually help but it does for the moment lol. take care thanks!
Thanks for the note. I will have to get out a Richard Powers book, which one would you recommend for a first?
I picked it for book club a few years back and hated it.
I really enjoy finction about Slavery/Plantation life..... any suggestions?
I see you are also reading A million Nightingales.... what do you think so far?
