Yes. If you like adventure stories, this is a good one for you. The characters are well developed and the story keeps you going. My only complaint is that, in later books, the reader is left hanging between situations. However, the characters are what keeps me reading them. I am up to book 5 in the series and plan to keep getting them. I hope this helps.
Moby Dick is an amazing book but it is not a quick read. It is like hiking a mountain, some of it is slow and hard going but the view on the top (the ending) was worth all the effort. If you feel like taking a long journey - go for it! You won't look at whales the same and of course, you meet the original Starbuck.
In my opinion everyone should read Uncle Tom's Cabin. It is captivating, but also it gives insight to all issues regarding race-relations in this country.
hey ... I'm not very good at describing books, but Abarat is Clive Barker's young adult series. There are 2 books out right now, there will be 5 in all. The are a bit darker, and have a ton of cool art in them.Other things you might like are the original Dragonlance books, and Steven R. Lawhead's Albion series, which reminded me a lot of LOTR.
