Irene Y’s last login was Wednesday, April 10, 2013.
Hi Irene, I did not realize that the author was from Albany. I am going to try to find the article in the TU archives. I have grandchildren that attend Shaker Junior HS now. I started reading "Let The Great World Spin" by Colum McCann. The story takes place in New York City in the 1970's. My son who is an English teacher recommended the bbok, he is reading it with his students now. I spent some time adding more books to my Shelfari shelf today. I joined about two eeks ago so it is going to take awhile to catch up. I am so glad that my librarian suggested this site and invited me to be her friend. Happy reading!
Irene, I am so glad that I have met you. I went to the site that you gave me and read your entry from June 13, 2010. It is increbile to think that if your mother had not been moving slowly that day you may never have been here! I am so glad that you have shared this story, your mother is a quiet hero. I live just outside of Albany, NY so we are not far apart. I am reading "My Name Is Mary Sutter" right now, I noticed that you have read that book too. The Albany connection is so interesting. Glad to have you as my friend!
Welcome to the group based on the book 1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die.
There is a general explanation of the group under the discussion thread GROUP GUIDELINES.
The books of the month (BOTM) that the group is reading are pinned to the top. May BOTM are;
