Sandy G

Happily married, mom to three grown children and three grandchildren. I have loved to read all my life and an avid collector of both cookbooks and reading books.

I enjoy most all genres, except sci-fi, only because I've never read any. I may try it someday, but for now I have other interests. Some of my favorite authors... more »

    Hello Sandy!
Nice to meet you too. I loved Moloka'i too; it was one of my favorites. I didn't like Honolulu nearly as much. It was okay...nothing to write home about :) A bit disappointing actually. Oh well. I think I'll read The Swallows of Kabul next - how was it?

That's ok about being late, it's very hectic this time of year. We have a similar taste in books so should be fun to compare books.

I hope you do learn to knit, it is a great past time. My Mom taught me when I was 4 and I go in spurts, knitting something then not for a while but I do enjoy it.

    Take care.

I do the same thing. I like to hear what others think about a book. Then, I make my decision by my feelings.

    Hi Sandy,

I might put off "The Moonlit Cage" for a little while. I've gotten a good taste of how women are treated over there from reading "A Thousand Splendid Suns" and other books. I am going to keep "The Moonlit Cage" on my list for awhile. Can't promise when I will read it.

I have enjoyed reading about Afghanistan: "A Thousand Splendid Suns," "Bookseller in Kabul," "The Kite Runner" and a couple more books. I love the title you've written about. Will write it on my list for a later time. It sounds soooo good. Thanks.

"The Moonlit Cage" I haven't heard that title. It sounds interesting. Is it a mystery?

I know the feeling. I always have a stack of books on hold. I did notice the diary listed under biography at the library. I will pick it up this weekend with a pile of other books. I needed a good nonfiction book. Of course, I don't know how quickly I will start it. I am going to put it on my shelf if I haven't already done it.

    Hi SandyG,

Just a note to say a bookie hi. I have read "Like Water For Chocolate." I loved it. I want to read more books by Esquivel.
