This book was fabulous. It is about a boy named Oskar, whose father died in 9/11, and he finds a key in his father's closet. Finding what lock fits the key consumes Oskar and he travels all over NY to find the answer. This book is heartwrenching and at the same time it is inspiring. This book made me cry, I felt for Oskar as he tried to deal with death at such a young age. I recommend this book to anyone who has lost someone special. The pain doesn't ever go away, but some things help to ease it.

I enjoyed Fluke's story as always, I love Hannah. Levine's story was okay, and I have never read her work before, but I'm not too sure I want to read more as it wasn't what I normally read. Meier's story was also just okay, I haven't read her before either but I do have a couple of her books in my TBR pile. Other all it was just an okay Christmas anthology.

This was just as good as Garden Spells. I think I liked this one a little better. Josey is a 27 year old woman living with her mother trying to gain forgiveness. Chloe is a woman torn apart when her boyfriend cheats on her, and Della Lee is hiding in Josey's closet. Their lives are entwined, and I looked forward to seeing the story play out. I really like how Allen adds small paranormal elements to her stories, and I look forward to reading more of her work.

3.5 stars. I really liked this one too, although it didn't tug at me like Eat, Pray, Love did. At first I thought this story would just be about how Liz and Felipe came to the decision to get married. It was partly that, but the book was also about different perspectives on marriage. Gilbert talks about how different cultures view marriage, statistics about marriage, and she shares her own story about how she gets married even though she never wanted to get married again, but things get in the way. I hope she decides to write more memoirs because I have enjoyed both.

I really liked this first book of Tori's, but I really wish she would have split this one into two books and went into a little more depth. I do like that most of this book wasn't on their show, Tori and Dean, and we get to see how Tori grew up and became the person she is. Enjoyed.

3.5 stars. This is a good first mystery and one that has a librarian as a central character. Lindsey and her best friend Beth work at the Briar Creek Library. When Beth's boyfriend, Rick, is found dead, the chief in town assumes that she has done it. Lindsey will do anything to help prove that Beth did not do it. I liked the main characters and I think this series will get better with time because the characters will have time to develop. I liked the atmosphere that McKinlay created and I think the town is quite charming. Will read more.

This is the second museum mystery, and I have to say that I was not impressed with it. I loved Nell in the first one, and I still love her character, but in this one the mystery is surrounding by two electrical "accidents" at a nearby children's museum. There was too much about electricity, and that got annoying. Part of the reason I loved the first one was because the book was set in a museum. This one still has the Society in it, but its pretty minimal. James is hardly in this one and neither is Marty. The secondary characters weren't as good either. I did like the addition of Shelby and Eric though and I hope they return in the next one. Hopefully I won't be given lessons on electricity again though, not fun to read about in my opinion.

The third Vicky Bliss mystery. This one wasn't so much a mystery as an adventure in the Swedish wilderness. Vicky gets a red rose and a ticket to Stockholm, and she travels there to find herself entangled in one of John's maniac plans. They are held hostage at Cousin Gus's house out in the middle of nowhere until the object of value is found. I thought this one really didn't go anywhere. We don't really find out much, the secondary characters don't really add much to the story, and the adventure isn't much of an adventure because nothing really happens. I will read the others in the series, but this one definitely wasn't my favorite.

This was a cute first in series and I will pick up the second one when it comes out. Readers meet Clara Quinn, who has recently moved back to Finn's Harbor, Maine from New York. Her cousin, Stephanie Quinn, is also featured and I think she will have a bigger role in future books. In this one, the neighboring store manager, Ana Jordan, is murdered and one of the girls who works at the bookstore is thought to have done it. Clara is on the case. This book also has a touch of the paranormal. Clara has "Quinn Sense" which is basically extra instincts, like she can tell when people are lying, and what details are important, and she can interpret dreams. I liked that the paranormal wasn't too heavy, and it wasn't forced in there either. I liked this book. It was charming and I would like to revisit Finn's Harbor in future books.

3.5 stars. This one was better than Crossroads of Twilight, and it did pick up but not too much. At least the characters were on the move toward something in this one. Elayne fights for the Lion Throne, Rand flits all over the map fighting all kinds of battles, Perrin fights to free Faile from the Shaido, and Mat and Tuon try to escape from the Seanchan forces in Altara. Egwene has to deal with being constantly watched by Elaida's Aes Sedai in the White Tower. I can feel the conclusion coming and I think things will speed up in the last three books because the Last Battle is almost here. I'm looking forward to see how Jordan, as well as with Sanderson filling in the gaps, will end this series. I will be sad to see it end, but I have enjoyed reading every book.
