Although I wrote my first book - FATAL INFATUATION back in 2003, I had a very difficult time finding an agent or publisher. After much set-back and disappointment I decided to simply keep writing for myself, friends & family, because it made me happy. Marketing myself to publishers and spending all my time trying to get them to read my books wasn't what I wanted to focus on. I was busy raising two young sons and getting my Master's Degree. My writing was very important to me, but it just wasn't practical to attend all of the conferences and jump through the hoops necessary to get noticed as an author.
Summer of 2008 I heard about Amazon's new e-reader device, The Kindle. In order to make the Kindle more valuable, Amazon wanted to be able to offer as many titles as possible for it. Thus they were willing to accept previously un-published authors. This was an opportunity! I put my books on Kindle and was blessed with a wonderful response from readers and great reviews! After much deliberation, I have decided to self-publish these books. This way, I can retain sole rights and creative control over the series. I have poured so much of my heart and soul into telling this story and breathing life into these characters - it is very rewarding to finally be able to share the books with readers!
I have always had a vivid imagination and a fascination for the paranormal. Acting and singing in theatrical productions throughout college and in my church has always been a love of mine as well. However, upon conceiving the idea for my ALMOST HUMAN series of books, I have discovered a previously unknown passion for writing! Not only can I finally put my over-active imagination to good use, but I can create characters that I love, and I get to play all of the parts! I live on Long Island, New York with my loving husband, two young sons, and an ever growing collection of pets. I hold a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science and am also currently pursuing a position as a school librarian.
I'm also a happily married mother of 2 sweet boys. My husband and I have been together for over 17 years, he is my best friend and I feel very blessed that we have each other to go through life with! I have many hobbies and interests, but writing has become my most passionate obsession! I love nature... animals, forests, random beauty. I'm very creative and artistic - some of it shows, some of it doesn't, and I even try to put it to good use now and then. I love to sing - I drag my friends to karaoke whenever possible! I also belly-dance, I'm a bit of a video game addict - not that I have much time to play these days :-( and I breed fish and blue crayfish for pet stores. (How's that for an eclectic assortment of interests? LOL)
