Beautiful Biographies

Beautiful Biographies

Biographies and autobiographies are enjoyable because they give us an open window into the lives of others.
They are also thought provoking because each book we read holds elements we can relate to.

Reading is dreaming with open eyes.

Looks like we both have Micah Toub's book "Growing Up Jung" on our shelves. It's a good book! You should consider picking up Judy Shepard's "The Meaning of Matthew." I'm not exactly recommending this based on your ratings, as you haven't seemed to rate too many books, but I just thought it was interesting and inline with your theme.

I just saw the author of Jan's Story on Sunday Morning (CBS, Sunday). I immediately went online to put the book on my "plan to read shelf" that is how I "met" you. [br/]I like your profile thoughts and the Lobel quote. (I reitred from teaching second grade where Lobel's books were popular. :-)[br/]I read a lot of genres but tend to read a lot of memoir/bioography/autobiography books. I have a vested interest in reading Jan's Story as my father had early onset Alzheimers and died at age 59. (He was diagnosed with it while still alive at the Mayo Clinic in MN. At that time, the disease was definitively labelel via autopsy. Because it was definite that my father had demential, but he did not have the characteristics of the other types of dementia, and did have the characteristics that go along with Alzheimers, the doctors did name identify it while he was alive.)[br/]I am going to request your "friendship" as I'd like to be able to easily reference your Shelfari "shelf." You might want to get some ideas from mine as well. If you do go to my shelf, in order to find my biographies more easily, note that I have tagged books as memoir, autobiography and biography.

Hi, I suggest you add "From Private to General" by Jerry Curry, "Tender Bar" by J.R. Moehringer, and "Plenty-Coups" by Frank Linderman. Enjoy and READ ON...
