So I got my friend Lacey into the Fever series--she finished Darkfever in about a day, so another one bites the dust :) Although, I feel sort of guilty because she's studying for exams right now, but who can resist Barrons?!
Wishing you and your family a happyThanksgiving and Christmas holiday.
"Nobody loves me, nobody cares,
Nobody picks me peaches and pears.
Nobody offers me candy and Cokes,
Nobody listens and laughs at me jokes.
Nobody helps when I get into a fight,
Nobody does all my homework at night.
Nobody misses me,
Nobody cries,
Nobody thinks I'm a wonderful guy.
So, if you ask me who's my best friend, in a whiz,
I'll stand up and tell you NOBODY is!
But yesterday night I got quite a scare
I woke up and Nobody just WASN'T there!
I called out and reached for Nobody's hand,
In the darkness where Nobody usually stands,
Then I poked through the house, in each cranny and nook,
But I found SOMEBODY each place that I looked.
I seached till I'm tired, and now with the dawn,
There's no doubt about it-
NOBODY'S GONE!!"
— Shel Silverstein
Hey, just wanted to let you know we picked the Fever series for our next series to read at Vamps, Witches, and Weres & Kick A** Chicks Paranormal/Urban Fantasy Book Club. We are also voting on our Oct BOTM. I hope you'll join us and help us make a decision!
Thanks lady! Seriously, it's ridiculously easy to do fun things with iPhoto, it makes me look way more artistic than I am...Yay technology!
Ok! Except, I've only read short stories by Henry James and I HATE him! Too many run-on sentences, I can't deal with it. So it would have to be Wharton, or Willa Cather--I've read her short stories and she's similar to Wharton & I've never read her novels. I lovedlovedloved House of Mirth tho. I've already had ideas too about other books, like Jeanette Winterson--she's sort of like Atwood but more Magical Realism but also uber feminist and her books are awesome (from the 2 I've read anyway ;). So yeah, I already have ADHD about the group and we haven't even discussed the 1st book yet!
Thanks for the invite! I'm still playing around with this, but so far I'm really excited!
Round Table: This is to remind all members we are reading The Once and Future King by T.H. White this month and next. Hope you will enjoy it
