I've always loved reading. Even when I couldn't read, I'd pretend I was reading while asking my mom when I was going to be able to read like my older brother and sister. Once I started? I had a hard time stopping...even to the detriment of my sleep!

Now I am a graduate student who spends 1/4 of my time reading (sleeping, eating, and working take up the other parts!). I'm a fast reader, but books I love get repeat showings! I am slowly building my own personal library because I have been a fan of public libraries my entire life and thus counted on them to fulfill my bibliophilia. My library mostly consists of the classics (both American literature and literally the Classics--I was a Classics minor!), popular fiction, lots of media theory and criticism, old Hollywood and theater history, young adult fiction, and lots of leftover academic texts!

If I had to choose my favorite book, I'd haggle to choose my two favorite: Orwell's Animal Farm and Garcia Marquez's 100 Years of Solitude. I'd hate to imagine a world without the existence of those two amazing works. « less
