I work at a book store, and so have a small addiction to books. I definitely work to feed my habit, because after I buy books there is not much left over from my checks! I love any good story, fiction or non-fict. My favorites are biographies, historical novels, classics, and I have a secret passion for young adult books. I am willing to try... more »

Hale's second Austenland book, I enjoyed it. It is like candy for the brain. The story line is original, thou she pulls the feeling of Nothanger Abbey into it. I love that she can use Austen without using Austen's characters.
This one was darker than the previous Austenland book, a good mystery, thou not exactly surprising. It is well written, and the characters are realistic and likeable.

I enjoy most everything Moore does, this one is great, I love the growth of the characters, and the crazy situations they get into. Moore gives appreciation to some real life scary situations that can be seen in a dark twisted humor.

Great book, but be prepared for some gory scenes, as it is about war and medicine. It is a tragic story that is filled with determination and life, and leaves you with a feeling of hope.

I love Ishiguro, but I did not love this one, centered around one woman and her flashbacks, the story felt disjointed, and I got to the end wondering what the point was. It was beautifully written as all of Ishiguro's work is, and a quick read, but he has much better pieces of work out there.

The book is a bit slow, but excellently translated, and an original woman spy novel. Makes you long for the world of Casablanca, casinos, and manners.

Hilarious! What more can be said about Moore! This story takes place in the same town as "Practical Demonkeeping" and has a few of the same characters, which to me is always fun, I like having them pop in and out of the story. Moore's humor had me laughing out loud, and totally engrossed in the characters and their craziness. Great read- and one of his funnier one too.

this is an interesting novella. I like LeGuin's writing in it, even though at times I wish it wasn't so disjointed. Often times it would skip to a new scene and I would have trouble keeping track of time, the whole story takes place in a couple of earth months. The character situation was interesting, a good look at culture.

I liked that the story is told from the perspective of a man who has been committed. It gives a great point of view. The characters are interesting and the writing is good, but I found myself really bored in the middle, and often getting lost in what was a dream and what was reality, which is ok for this type of book, but not for someone wanting a good light read.

I love interesting twists on the character of Death. Anthony approaches the subject with a bit of humor, much compassion, and respect.
The writing is well done, and the characters are interesting and eclectic. He has built a strong world.

very rarely do I prefer a movie to a book, but I found myself getting annoyed at the author and his constant cut ins to explain this and than, what he removed from the original text, what he found repetitive, or long winded, the worst was there was so much about how the author (or editor Goldman) felt about his wife. It seemed that every time I was really falling into the story he would interject. The movie follows the book so closely that I don't mind saying I prefer it!
