I work at a book store, and so have a small addiction to books. My husband says I work to feed my habit, because after I buy books there is not much left over from my checks! I love any good story, fiction or non-fict. My favorites are biographies, historical novels, classics, and I have a secret passion for young adult books. I am willing... more »

I finished it in a day, it was an ok read, I like that it makes the outsider kid feel like there is something out there for them, but I found the plot to be light and predictable, and the characters to be very one-dimensional. I think after HP I expect a lot from a kids book, and this one though a good book for kids doesnt have a lot to offer beyond.

So if you dont know much about steampunk this is it. Great book, well written, has air pirates and zombies, and lots of great characters.
I love the verbiage she uses, and how you can really see what she is talking about, with out her going overboard on the explanations.
It is set in seattle, in the late 1800's not your traditional setting for steampunk but it really works. It is about a woman who's son goes into old town which is filled with a leathal gas, and zombies, and she goes in after him to rescue him. It is a great story about a mom who may not be the best but she is trying her hardest.

I will be looking for all of P G Wodehouses works! He is so funny, there is a special way that he makes the most ridiculous situations into the funniest more expectant ideas, that never go too over the top. His characters are fun and refreshing, and the situations are exciting, great read.

So funny! The antics this author puts Wooster through is hilarious. I was laughing out load, and even though things seem to get ridiculous Wodehouse has a way of making it so that you are not annoyed at the craziness but intrigued. Great writer with funny lines and an easy read.

It is very interesting, though at times it can be sad, and as the author said frustrating. It gives some hope to women, but makes us in the west realize the long road ahead for equal rights. It really makes me aware of how amazing my life is, to be able to go where I want and do what I want without the fear that the Afghan women live with. The book gives many facets to the family life and individuals. The author seems very truthful and nonjudgmental.

I listened to the audio version, and the narrator (sissy spasik) did an excellent job. It is a story that even if you dont read it you know it, but I was surprised at how much I felt for Carrie, knowing what was coming, it was almost justifiable. It is amazing how King got into this viciousness of the girls and the way they treat each other, very true to form.

Not my favorite of Austen's books. I dont like Emma the way that the other heiroins of Austen, she seems much more childish, spoild and snobby than the other characters, I think that she is ment to be but it makes it imposible for me to sympathize with her, and I find it annoying that she gets such a great guy like George Knightly. Her father is irritating, but I like that the father is the one with the issues instead of it always being the mother. I love George Knightly, and the other characters all add charm to the story, Ms Bates is great, but I just kept thinking that if Emma had one less bad trait I could like her.

This book is so touching, and so interesting! I love the moral side of it, the story really gets you thinking about science, and the speed that we as a race are advancing, and it reminds us to take a moment and make sure all of our ideals are in perspective. I didnt like Ruth at all but I dont think that you are suppose to, while Kath is a great main character, she is laid back and while the story is about her it is more about what is happening to her, and how the people around her treat her, and what she sees in her special situation. I was completely drawn in.

I ended up listening to the audio, I read the first chapter and just was not to into it and for books like that I can listen to the audio to see what everyone is talking about. I feel like there is so much hype that goest along with the book, when most of the book the main character is very arrogent, and distastful. Even when he learns about life and learns that people are not all like children he takes this lesson and becomes superior (in his mind) to his friend the monk. I never would have gotten through the book it I was reading it.
