I was surprised when the got back home that everyone was gone with no sign of anything. But then I remembered that they had mentioned a couple other towns that had happened in as well. Hopefully that will be addressed in the next book. Then the way he ended it in Texas! No! They have to be OK! I was so upset. But it just makes ya hungry for the next book.
What was the name of the book you were telling me about last Saturday? With the two girls in CA after the power grid failed?
Told ya! :)
Well The Passage will keep you busy for a few days. Let me know what you think of it. The Host is sci-fi for people who don't like sci-fi. The space stuff is more implied than anything. I would say it's more of a love story, but not like any love story you've ever read. I've read it three times.
I love it. It's actually my 2nd time reading it - I read it last year. It's kind of bizarre, but it's so compelling. By the time you finish the first chapter, you can't put it down, at least I couldn't. A llot of characters get introduced in the first few chapters but the author connects them, or at least shows how they're important in such a way, that you're glad he did. That said, it's a post apocalyptic story - even though the 1st 200 pages are the background. The army is working on a program to make people live longer, as in hundreds of years, they call it project Noah. As in all the days of Noah were 950 years. I always wondered why it wasn't the Methuselah project. I guess more people know Noah. (by the way there really is a Methusalah project, they have a web site you can google it maybe that's why he didn't choose the name.) Of course nothing goes as planned, and the people turn into something .... else. The main character is Amy, a little girl when the story opens, who may hold the key to humanity's survival. I don't even know why I like it so much, but I do. I seem to be drawn to these end of the world kind of books. Ever read The Host? My other favorite. There is language btw, but language doesn't faze me I hear so much at work.
nevermind....duh. Librian...
well I'm feeling pretty dumb now! who are you??
Oh yeah, and if you don't mind, I'm curious how you came across my book?
Thanks! It does look like a great site. I kind of stumbled on it.
