Thanks for the tips! The Harry Potter books do get to be a bit much as they go on. For a while I was keeping ahead of Alan, but then hit a busy patch at work and had no time and he reads so fast he's already finished the series and I'm stuck back on book 5. He didn't get scared or anything. He flew through them. He probably skipped past the boy-girl parts (I haven't gotten to anything beyond holding hands and a little kiss so far -- hopefully it doesn't get too graphic in books 6 and 7!). There's a program at school where they get points after taking quizzes on the books they've read and he's racked up the points this year with that series! We watched the first two movies and Zach fell in love with Harry Potter. The themes do get to be way too mature for a 4 year old so I haven't let them see any of the others. Zach's hating me for that. Now that Alan and I have developed a routine of reading our own books together for 30 minutes or so at bedtime I'm looking forward to reading more books -- once I get through the Harry Potter series!
Sara, This is a great idea! Wish I had more time to read for fun! Alan is reading the Harry Potter books so I'm reading with him. I can't figure out this website though -- I figured out how to put books on my shelf, but can't figure out how to categorize into reading now, planning to read, and already read!Lisa
