You crazy girl, lol! I read Anna Karenina many years ago and barely remember it. Hope you like it. I have a few too on my list that are classics that I want to read. I recommend Madame Bovary if you haven't read that yet.
So are you still reading Forever Amber? I saw you listed Katherine as a favorite and I just finished plodding through that one. I agree with you on Marley and Me, pretty mediocre book.
Thanks for the info I sure will let you know happy readings!!!
Hey! Thanks for the request. I hope you're having a great weekend.
Hi Cheryl. Thanks for the friend invite. Yes I loved Forever Amber. No idea how many times I've read it. The first few times in Dutch as a teenager and once time in English.I also managed to get a copy of her other book Wanderers East, Wanderers West. It has some good reviews but I am scared to begin. worried i might be disappointed. :)Right now I am reading Why Moms are Weird the second book by Pamela Ribon (of Why Girls are Weird) but I grave true life accounts: biographies, memoirs, survival stories. It is time to buy some new books i guess. (as if i do not have a mount TBR here :)
Yeah, I usually avoid books that are so long but heard all kinds of good things about it. Have you gotten to the part involving the plague? Best part of the book.
Hi Cheryl ! Thanks for the Friend Request. I just took a quick look at yoru shelf, and we do have many books in common! I see that you are reading Forever Amber. What a fabulous book ! A classic, and one of my all-time favorites. I believe it is a "must read" for all fans of Historical Fiction. Let me know how you like it. I look forward to recommending books and hearing about your favorites as well !
Cute dog you've got there:-) I love big dogs! And I love Snow Flower, one of my favorites too. Are you enjoying Forever Amber? Hard to believe that book was considered obscene 60 years ago.
Thanks for the friends request! We do have many books in common of all genres but it looks like we are both big fans of historical fiction.
We definitely have some books in common...I love that you rated 'The Host' as one of your faves! I really liked that book a lot, and I don't know many people who have read it. When I try to explain it to my 'Twilight' fans, they just can't grasp the concept of the book and don't even want to give it a shot because it doesn't involve the Cullen family. I look forward to picking out new reads from your shelf! :)
Welcome to 1001 books. You can keep track of the books you have read from the book, 1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die here and join in the discussions on the books we are reading for the month (from the book) or you can argue the merits of the list as some enjoy doing. We hope you will want to join in our discussions. The current books are at the top of the list for that month. If there is any way I can answer your questions about the group or about Shelfari, let me know. The list can be found http://www.listology.com/content_show.cfm?content_id=22845
