I read Breakfast at Tiffany's in June. I can not believe I never read that story before. It was great...not at all what I expected.

I did read Saving CeeCee Huneycut. I love those books with strong women. I also read The Red Thread. It is about couples starting out the adoption process with China. Not sure if it was a good book or I just really appreciated the subject matter. I started reading The Gathering but I put it down and it has not been calling to me so I don't think it's going to hold my attention.

Did you read A Reliable Wife? It's a strange book but it is very well written.

I have almost picked up The Girl With the Dragon Tatoo several times but it just hasn't happened yet.

Eat, Pray, Love will be in theaters in August. I loved that book so I am not sure I want to see the movie but I REALLY WANT TO SEE THE MOVIE. If they mess up that book like they messed up My Sister's Keeper I may never go see a book adaptation again. Well, except for Harry Potter.

Linda, I finshed Girl with the Dragon Tatoo and it was really good--although I had to really push to get past the first 100 pages--all the economic, financial stuff was not really riveting. I will be starting the second book soon.

What did you think of Eat, Pray, Love? I tried reading it twice and couldn't get past the first 50 pages.

    Hi Linda,
I haven't read the Girl with the Dragon Tatoo yet, but I'll definitely read it this summer. I just finished the book you loaned me, Becoming Mrs. Alcott. I have a pile of kid books that I'm planning on reading next then I'll move on to Tatoo. Read anything else really great? I've been back and forth to Maine a couple of times so things have been pretty busy. I have to be content with reading OK books until we're finished with the work at our Maine property...otherwise I spend all my time reading! Off topic... has Craig been buying gold?? My GLD shares are up $35 and are set to go much higher with the devaluation of the dollar. I'm glad to finally have more time to spend on investing. Happy reading! Sue

Chnage in Altitude is the book that I was thinking about this am! I just finished that book yesterday. I thought it was ok--so many unfortunate events one after the other was a little toooooo much I felt. I like Shreve, but this was not one of my favorites. the Pilot's Wife was so much better. What do you think?

I liked CeeCee alot. I want to be there on that sleeping porch and have someone cook for me! I liked The Thirteenth Tale, too but not as much as CeeCee. I'm looking for something great to read over vacation so I'll take a look at your shelf. :-)

    Hi Lin,
I am in that post book fog. I am sending you a book that I just finished that is amazing. It is coming for your birthday. I didn't see it on your shelf, so I am hoping you have not read it. Tracee gave it to me to read when I visited last weekend. I'm curious to know what you think of it. Maybe I'll have to come up and find out. Happy B'Day. Love, Sissy

School is starting, so I don't know how many books I am going to read that aren't school related. That is always one of the hardest parts of giving up summer. Hope you have a good start. See you soon. Sissy
