    Hi Oona,

I must say I really don't like Saramago that much (it quite hard to understaind him in porrtuguese... he almost don't use any ponctuation) but from what I know Blindness its really one his best works rigth beside Memorial do Convento. I also saw the Blindness film and liked it...

    Hi my friend,

Sorry about this very very very late response, but I chnged work location and got Shelfari firewalled so no updates for a long long time :) in your last note you asked to mention any Portugese writers... And I'll do so starting with some of my Fav's:

Eça de Queirós (Os Maias, O crime do Padre Amaro, etc...)
Virgilio Ferreira (Apparition, one of my all time fav books)
António Lobo Antunes (all of his books :) )
José Rodrigues dos Santos (Codex 632: The Secret of Christopher Columbus)
    Miguel Sousa Tavares (Equator (Equador))

By the way I'm still reading Out (... no time to do anything) and I'm loving it :)

    Cheers

I love Japanese and Chinese film, but specially Japanese film (... as well as books from japanese writers), the thing that I like the most is the creepyness of most of the horror and mystery works as the way that Japase writer describe things (most of my Portuguese wirters are also very descriptionists)

You know is very hard to find available here in Portugal (Hurray for Amazon!!). Still did not experiencied audio books, its not that usual laso here in Portugal to release audio books for foreign literature (not even national ones for that matter).

Hi Oona... Still Reading OUT I just discovered Kirini when I was looking for Ryu Murakami's "In The Miso Soup" on the book store and decided to try out :)

I just love the "noir" environment invoqued by the Japanese writers.

Already Have Kirino's REAL WORLD on my amazon wish list, what do you think of it?
