Kim, the lists are amazing. I would be interested in seeing yours, too. I hope you have a very Happy New Year! I am glad that you accepted my friendship offer, I had thought we were friends from before as I know we have commented to each other. Don't worry about being a "slacker", we all go thru fits and starts. If you love reading, that must make you a Bookaholic, like the rest of us on Shelfari. Check out our 12-step program on the Bookaholics Anonymous discussion group.

We used to chat a bit a while ago. I was interested in your reviews of both A Discovery of Witches and Water for Elephants.

Left Neglected was my favorite book of the year until I picked up The Night Circus and that just got bumped by King's 11/22/63. I was totally in It was scary how drawn into Sarah's world I could disappear...I know people have issues with her journey, but that book was about as real as any has ever gotten for me. It's been a great year of reading for me

Wow. That's what we had. Six full days, from Irene. I'm not sure how you last 10 days ! The kids had a really hard time with it. My son is only 7 and is terrified of the dark, this didn't help...My girls were ok, they are older. And they were a big help ! We had another flood in 1992, and didn't actually lose power to the whole house, we had about half the house covered. We only had pets then. LOL ;- )

WOW - how long have you been without power ?? We lost power from Irene for almost a whole week. You are right, books are wonderful friends, but it's hard once night falls....We went through a ton of candles, and burned a battery lantern bulb...

You might also want to read Burying The Bones by Hilary Spurling, a biography of Pearl Buck. I think it also has been published under the title Pearl Buck in China. I haven't read it yet, but heard good things about it.

Ok I haven't heard from you in forever so I wanted to say HI! & of course I have to do my infamous snooping and ragging on you to read some goo books. Here I go:

Blue Bloods: The series started off sooo good but to me its starting to fizzle out.
Vampire Academy: The best vampire series ever... hands down!
Evermore: Just read the first book; don't waste your time with the rest of the series.
Mistsof Avalon: long but soo worth it.
Graceling: was probably one of my favorites ever! It will keep you on your toes.
If I Stay: They are making a sequeal; Where She Went.
Water For Elephants: I actually just finished! So good. Amazing. I wasnt a fan of the ending but... whatever.
Fallen: The first is better then the second and the third will be out soon so we'll see.

Re Mystery Loving BookAholics ... I see that the other co-administrator hasn't even been on Shelfari since December

Anway ... It's May ... could you Un-pin the April discussions, and pin the May discusssions instead?

I'm sure you're busier than the proverbial one-armed paper hanger what with (school) year-end activities. So don't stress of this request.
    Thanks

Kimbear, please send me your address so I can send you the book from the PBT swap. I think you weren't too sure about The Other Boleyn Girl, so if you prefer one of the following, I'm happy to send that instead (but I need to know by Sunday as I want to use the others in a giveaway that I'll be running): The Blessings of Animals by Katrine Kittle (new, unread), 31 Hours by Masha Hamilton (gently read), A Lesson in Secrets by Jacqueline Winspear (ARC, gently read). Thanks! Judith = jh303015 at gmail dot com.

Hi there :). Could you please pop by the swap when you have a quick minute? The main event is over. However, we are having a Second Chances activity. I just want you to see what that is about and let me know if you want to participate or not? Many thanks.
