I read this book last year, this is a beautiful story about a young woman having a dream of becoming a gesiha (well not at first)...no matter what the odds were. Some readers may say why was a story about a prostitute so good?--because it was her dream--no one else's. First of all, she didn't set off to be a geisha--she was sold. But nevertheless, she was determined to be the best geisha-- she over came obstacles of haters that were in her way---to me that's what you call a true survivor/over-comer.
Also, Japan beautiful scenery was captivating and vividly described. I can read it over and over....and the movie was wonderful also.

This was a very dramatic, sad and crazy story... it's one thing to be oppressed by a town who wants to keep dictating what you can do and what you can't do...but your own mother who's so possessive and crazy being so abusive--verbally and physically....I so glad that Tangy moved on with her life. I really enjoyed this story.

Sherri Lewis is a gifted writer who has a sense of humor.... I laughed and laughed...she tells it like it is...its good to have sisters in Christ--who's been there and done that--where you can learn without the experience of falling into that trap---but some folks want to learn the hard way...we as Christians have to realize that our flesh is so strong--why does Paul says, "For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing" and "Flee (run) from temptation". This book is a wonderful tool to bless any female with who are praying about her help meet that God has for her...and while she's waiting... she's preparing herself to be that good thing for her husband. I really enjoyed this book immensely.
