Hi Mary! I actually ended up mailing that book today. I thought I wouldn't get a chance till at least tomorrow, but I got to a post office today. They said it should take 2-3 weeks. (Though I think they've said that before and it's usually a bit quicker.)

Hi, Mary. It's confirmed. You got my book! :-) Go ahead and send me a note with your mailing address (whichever one is best for me to send it to), and I'll get it in the mail for you, probably early next week, but I might be able to do it on Sunday.

thanks for the reply. yes, I pretty much felt the same way you do about Olive and I really enjoyed 'The Namesake'. I think there might be a movie coming out about it. Have a good day.

First, let me say, Wow! You've posted so many books! Saw that you were reading Olive Kitteridge. My book club read it, our opinion was pretty much a good read, glad we read it, but it was hard, we woud have liked to have 'liked' Olive a little more. Are you enjoying it? Also, you are reading Unaccustomed Earth, do you like it? I read The Namesake and really enjoyed that. Well, have a good day.

I know Mary! I couldn't finish Her fearful Symmetry and I SO wanted to love it. You should love the Glass Castle. It's heart wrenching but so well done. Im re-reading it for my face to face book club this week.

I look forward to hearing what you think about "The Perfect Prince," Mary. I've already added the book on Cramner to my shelf based on your five-star rating.

I just replied to you in the results thread in The Challenged Reader group. However, the response doesn't seem to show up on my computer. Can you read it on yours or do I need to post again?

    Hey Mary,

    How goes it?

Just started school this week and the body is exhausted but the mind is racing – overall it feels terrific to be back in the classroom.

This summer my latest book was released – “Roam Italy: A Teacher and His Students Take the Ultimate Class Trip.” The book’s website is www.theclassroombook.com if you wanted to check things out.

Possible tornado warnings in NJ this weekend so I best head for cover…

Good point, Mary. Have you found anything good on Margaret Beaufort? I would love to read more about this somewhat controversial figure.

Thanks for your informative response, Mary. Your comments confirmed my suspicions that this might be another of Gregory's "fantastic" takes on British history. Like you, I've studied a fair bit about the War of the Roses, the Plantagenet dynasty, the origins of the Tudors, and so on. I get cranky when a popular author such as Gregory strays so far off base. She has a large following, and I suspect many of her readers are getting their first taste of this period through her novels, and are interpreting it as fact rather than fiction. UGH!

    Hi Mary,
I'm interested in hearing the story behind your 1-star rating of The White Queen. I find myself running very hot and cold on Ms. Gregory; sometimes she is a little too fast and loose with her history, even tho' it is fictionalized, for my taste. What was the issue with her latest?
    Thanks!

I wonder, if "Murder of a Medici Princess" by Caroline P. Murphy, is a better read on this character.

Mary, thank you for your thoughts on the book. I actually rec'd 2 replies. One for a must read and yours- against. Lots of incest in the book? maybe not my cup of tea.

Hi Ms Mary! Thanks for the friend 'add'! And also thanks for the tip about Flora Fraser - I haven't read anything of hers and am always excited to find a new author. I'm going to push that one up on my list to try it out! I DO like E.M. Forster and was very excited to find some his work at a used bookstore nearby. I'm a very happy girl. :)

    Hi Mary,

Just wanted to tell you how much I love your bookshelf. I've been "shopping" and "stealing" your books - hope you don't mind. You've got so much good stuff there, I'll be coming back, I'm sure to continue browsing.

I've been seeing your posts on the forums, especially enjoying your Tudor History posts. Thanks for the tips and info you've given.

    See ya 'round the forums,
    Patti :)
