Marlayne, I actually used the recommendation of another person to use as the basis for recommending your book to a group of Christian YA's who frequent Shelfari. I searched for your book on Amazon and discovered it was available on Kindle so I'm looking forward to reading it. As you know the Kindle allows readers to enlarge the font making it much easier to read for us seniors. It's been a Godsend for me!

I am a semi retired Executive Management Consultant who has been involved in the Party Goods, Social Experessions, and Decorative Accessories industries for over 30 years. In that capacity I have been President and CEO, COO, of several companies which I have been responsible for growing and then selling on the owners behalf. I was bitten by the reading bug at a very young age and have been an insatiable reader since. While I am a fast reader I do wish I had taken a speed reading class in my early years because now that I have the time to read more I have been become frustrated by the sheer number of books I want to read but haven't been able to get to "So many books to read, so little time." My daughter, who is a doctor, is a speed reader extraordinaire and can literally read a 3 hundred page tome in about 3.5 hours or less if she likes the story. It's humbling :). As you have probably noted was also infected with insatiable curiousity as a boy which translates into "no particular genre" in my desire to learn about things although of late I've taken to coming-of-age fantasy/adventure stories. Perhaps I'm entering my second childhood because this genre has always fascinated me.

Just as an aside, the last business venture I managed and ultimately sold in 2004 was named "AMCAL Inc." and we published wall calendars, stationery, and gift products, which featured licensed art. We licensed several of the leading Christian artists in the country including; Thomas Kinkade, Ron DiCiani, Sandra Koch, and others. Because of this AMCAL was the primary supplier of wall calendars to all of the chain and independent Christian Bookstores thoughout North America and that inspired me to become more involved in Christian and Spiritual literature. There are many YA Christian Shelfari members who ask me for book recommendations and that has also rekindled my interest in reading more Christian books and is actually how I found you.

Thank you for your interest. I am looking forward to our ongoing conversations about literature in general especially as it relates to encouraging and promoting more young people to read and expand their horizons and enrich their lives. READ ON...

Marlayne, thank you for friending me. Because of some vision problems I'm somewhat restricted to reading stories on my Kindle 2 but thank you so much for your kind offer of an autographed copy of your book, I'm very flattered. I am looking forward to reading your book and have recommended "The Victor" on several different occassions to some of the YA Christian readers I've befriended on Shelfari. Also, I want to recommend a remarkable story to you titled "Pillars of the Earth" by Ken Follett which is the largest selling historical novel of all time. Thank you again and READ ON...
