I am currently a sixth grade teacher at an elementary school. I have been an avid, passionate reader since I was young. I remember BEGGING my parents to take me to the library and/or bookstore to stock up on my book choices for the week. One of my fondest memories from childhood is when I ended up with chicken pox the very first week of summer vacation after my 2nd grade year, and my dad came home with a PILE of Berenstain books for me - needless to say I was ecstatic!
Now I am trying my best to instill this same passion for reading with my students every year, one student at a time. I believe it is very important to find the right books for each student. I don't always get it right - but I never give up! « less
