I find were the sun is shining... weather it be on my sofa by the window, or my over sized leather chair in my growing library, out side on the grass under my apple tree...and, begin to read......

I am a wife, mom of 3, and grandma of 3.#4 on the way. I love to read books by Antonia Fraser... "The Wives of King Henry V111" or "Queen... more »

    Hi Grace,

I've had a search, and I can't find an image either. I have no other ideas on where to look... My Google - Fu has failed me! ;)

Hi, Grace! You joined! :-) Here is my official welcome note:

I'm from the Canada group and just wanted to stop by to welcome you to the group. It's not a terribly active group, but it tends to comes in spurts. There is a Welcome and Introductions thread if you'd like to introduce yourself there. We also have a review thread if you read anything by a Canadian author. Of course, feel free to contribute to the other threads as well! Enjoy! :-)

my book grp is planning to read Mennonite in a Little Black Dress. It seems it will tie in with your Mennonite Foods etc., so I'm adding that to my shelf.

Tracy, I am sooooooo sorry. I don't check into Shelfari like I should; so I'm just now seeing your Shelfari friend request. Glad you think Tristan is cute! As they say, love me, love my dog! He's a VERY special little boy.
In answer to your question about a follow-up to The Shack. I don't know of one like The Shack, but I can highly recommend The Same Kind if Different as Me by Ron Hall and Denver Moore and 90 Minutes in Heaven by Piper--both non-fiction. There is now a sequel to Same Kind..., but I haven't read it yet Hope this helps.

    Hi Tracy-
You sure don't look like a grandma!!! I just finished "Guernsey Literary..." and really enjoyed it...also a book called "Losing Mum and Pup" about the Buckleys...not the kind of book I usually read but loved it...a laugh out loud with some important life lessons. Enjoy

Greeting from Camano Island, Wa. ! Well, I don't usually read books like (the shack ) so I can tell you (Duma Key) by Stephen KIng was good. But then I love my Florida Keys vacations and I paint, and live on an island and feel my bones at 54 so I liked this story very much! I might also recommend a dean Knootz novel called (Husbands) which had alot of food tales in it and although this is a light weight author for me I liked it! Also I like historical novels and enjoyed so much, (Ghost Sea) by Mate', this was Walter Concrites' fav book! Anyway I live on the northern coast and visit Vancouver Island so having been there I liked this book very much. The same reason I read the John Sandford Prey series, because he is a local from Mpls. Mn. where I went to college. I am waiting for the last Michael Criteon novel to come out after his death, november I think.

Actually I listened to this as an audio book and I really enjoyed it. Each character was read by a different actor/actress and the epistolary style lent itself to a great audio book.
